Is there a way of doing this with youtube-dl or get_iplayer? The way I've been doing so far is just opening a whole series worth of windows in get_iplayer but that takes so long, especially when the show has 11 series. It would be much easier if there was a command to download a whole series or the whole show at once.

Hi, I own a Mac Mini 2.53ghz with 4gb ram. Very recently, whenever I watch anything on BBC iplayer (or any other catch-up tv site) in full screen mode, the frame rate drops significantly. It's fine when in window mode, but as soon as you switch to full screen, the visuals become glitchy. The problem doesn't effect the audio, just the picture.

I have the same problem and I haven't been able to find any solutions that work; I've tried uninstalling/installing flash player, repairing permissions, adjusting flash cache to unlimited. I get perfect video when it is small, even iplayer HD is perfect, but full screen is choppy.

A regular feature of Christmas schedules for over a decade, this marks the first mini-series run since 2013 with four new episodes set to delight fans. Filming will take place this Spring with transmission slated for later this year.

If you've turned on the TV and become gripped by the first episode of a shiny new BBC drama, there's a good chance these days that you won't have to wait out the week for episode two. Instead, you can shift over to BBC iPlayer where an increasing number of dramas are being made available in full, arriving as a box set before the whole series has even gone out on television.

Netflix seems to have set the precedent here with whole seasons usually dropped online at once. But the BBC isn't the only traditional broadcaster experimenting with the box set strategy for new releases.

BBC iPlayer is the official application from the television channel BBC, thanks to which you can watch series, programs, and movies from the comfort of your Android device. That is, so long as you have an Internet connection and you're subscribed to the BBC channels.

The dramatic cliffhanger at the end of series 2, that saw Eve lying presumed dead after being shot by Villanelle, certainly caught the attention of fans and definitely lived up to the name of the show.

The gripping sci-fi adventure drama, Silverpoint, is back for a second series. All episodes will be available on BBC iPlayer from Wednesday 17th May, with episodes also airing on CBBC on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 6pm. The series was filmed on location in Northern Ireland with funding from Northern Ireland Screen.

As part of the BBC's increased emphasis on online content, the corporation has debuted original shorts and TV shows on its catch-up and on-demand service iPlayer. After a variety of short films, the first full series to be shown on iPlayer in its entirety was Peter Kay's gentle comedy "Car Share". The word of mouth around the show helped it go on to have the most-watched opening episode of any sitcom on any channel since 2011 when it was eventually shown on regular telly.

A co-production between the BBC and Amazon's Freevee channel, Boat Story will land on both services though which one depends where you are. While there's no confirmed release for Freevee in the US, UK viewers got the first two episodes on Sunday November 19 and Monday November 20 respectively, on BBC One. The UK also got the whole series as a boxset on BBC iPlayer following the first episode.

A second season of Boat Story is yet to be announced, and it's unlikely we'll hear anything until after the series has aired. However, creators Harry and Jack Williams' previous show, the Jamie Dornan starring The Tourist, returns for a sophomore outing soon, so there's a chance this too will receive a follow up.

The first series were released early on BBC iPlayer on 23 March 2020, and later premiered on CBBC on 6 April 2020 in the United Kingdom. In Canada, the show premiered on Family Channel with a two-part event on 1 July 2020. In the United States, it premiered on BYUtv on 13 September 2020. The third season premiered on 4 July 2022 on CBBC.

Internationally, the series is broadcast on CBC Gem in Canada, ABC Me in Australia, ZDF and KiKA in Germany, e-Junior in the United Arab Emirates, Yle TV2 in Finland, SVT Barn in Sweden, NRK Super in Norway, HBO Max in Scandinavia and HOT in Israel.[1][2]

Set in 1940s Britain, the show follows the adventures of 12-year-old Darrell Rivers as she leaves home to attend an all-girls' boarding school and "explores a nostalgic world of midnight feasts, lacrosse, pranks, a mystery ghost and lasting friendships." The TV series updates Blyton's post-war period piece for a modern audience with a racially diverse and inclusive cast.

CBBC released a teaser trailer on 20 March 2020 with the announcement that the series would premiere on 6 April 2020.[14] The entire first series of episodes was available to view early on BBC iPlayer as of 23 March to viewers in the UK with a TV licence.[15] The first two episodes aired on Family Channel in Canada that 1 July.[16] The second season was also released in its entirety on the BBC iPlayer on 22 November 2021, with broadcasts expected on CBBC in 2022.[17]

Rejoice, Red Dwarf fans! All available series of the longest-running Science Fiction comedy on British television (Doctor Who is not considered a sitcom) are returning to the BBC. This includes the series that ran on the UK satellite channel Dave during the 2000s.

Two other comedy series are also coming to BBC iPlayer for the first time: all three series of the innuendo filled Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, which starred Kathy Burke as Linda La Plume, who shares her flat with aspiring actor Tom Farrell as they each hunt for the perfect man while both delusional about their own shortcomings. The third sitcom is Mister Winner, about ironically named Leslie Winner (Spencer Jones), who, despite all his best intentions, is forever finding himself in disastrous situations.

From 1st November, BBC iPlayer will host over 800 episodes of Doctor Who, including all the classic series from the very first Doctor, William Hartnell, right the way through to the 1996 TV movie with Paul McGann.

This guide has been written in a step by step manner for beginners. If this is your first time here you really must go through the guide in this fashion if you are to understand and get the most out of get_iplayer.

To begin using get_iplayer, we should first search for the programme we want to watch. Once you have the programme in mind that you would like to see, we simply search for a programme using get_iplayer by typing the following:

HINT - Notice how get_iplayer doesn't have to refresh the available streams? This is because it did it in the last command. get_iplayer will remember the list for 4 hours, and then update the list if a new search is performed after this 4 hour time limit.

get_iplayer saves files to your current working directory as a default on both Mac OS X and Linux, whereas it saves programmes to the folder you specified when first installing if you're using Windows.

As a default, get_iplayer will download the highest quality version of each TV programme, so you DO NOT need to change anything or use any of the commands below if you are happy with having the highest quality version. By "highest quality" I mean the version with the largest video size.

It can be frustrating when get_iplayer downloads from the wrong channel! Sometimes programmes from different, or even the same, series are shown on different channels at the same time. This can be annoying as you may accidentally download something from a previous series you have already seen on TV.

We can set the output path of programmes get_iplayer downloads on a case by case basis. You can do this globally, but it makes more sense to do this on a programme by programme basis, particularly if you are trying to ensure the relevant XBMC and Plex folder structure conventions are met.

The file path should go within the quotation marks. You are free to type out the location and get_iplayer will create it for you if it doesn't exist already, or it will simply add files to the directory if it already exists.

It's quite common to want to permanently change the location get_iplayer saves its downloaded files. For a complete overview of all output options take a look at the Output Options in the wiki, but lets take a look at a few simple and common options you can use. ff782bc1db
