We've heard from small business owners and entrepreneurs of color around the country, who are working hard to start and maintain businesses, from restaurants and food trucks to salons and gas stations. In order to still be "the land of opportunity," more needs to be done on the policy front to remove administrative and financial barriers so that entrepreneurs can continue being the lifeblood of communities and families.

These stories have been gathered with permission from the storytellers, through regular reporting and surveys conducted over the past year by National CAPACD, Self-Help, NALCAB, and the University of California Los Angeles. Not all have chosen to share their names and photos.
