As always, as the host I reserve the right to add, modify, or remove any of the rules listed below. This game is for those that enjoy the Big Brother television show and want to experience in a unique way.
Big Brother: Fear the Unknown is a normal Big Brother ORG. Fourteen houseguests (seven male and seven female) will enter the Big Brother house and face their deepest and darkest fears. With twists and turns around every corner, the houseguests will face paranoia in every waking moment of the game. Will you be able to sort the trustworthy people from the liars? Will you make it to the end and overcome your greatest fears? Or will the paranoia and mayhem send you to your breaking point?
The Game
The game will primarily utilize the ProBoards forum (realitygamesbb.proboards.com) for all game-related items. This includes announcements, competition information, ceremonies, confessionals, competition submissions, etc. Houseguests can also utilize the PM system to converse with fellow houseguests and myself.
Game Length
This game is expected to last around 2 1/2 to 3 months. While most of the game play is fast-paced, there is a lot that I have planned! Most challenges are non-live and last 24 hours, so that lends to the longer game.
Social Interaction
This is critical to any ORG game. For this game, we’ll be utilizing Slack. A special Slack group will be created. I will post to that group when any new information has been posted on the forum. Houseguests must utilize Slack and/or the Proboards PM system as the main social aspect of the game. A group chat will be created for general conversations. While it's not a strict 'must-do' policy, it's nice (for me as the host and then the viewers after the game has concluded) if you post any private conversations in your confessional. If you desire for one-on-one (or group alliance) conversations, you may add me to the chat as well.
Types of Competitions
Head of Household (HoH): Each week a Head of Household competition will take place. The winner will be free from the threat of eviction and must nominate two people for eviction. The HoH will only vote in the eviction if there is a tie between the final two nominees.
Power of Veto (PoV): Each week the Power of Veto competition will take place, where the winner will be able to save one of the nominees from eviction (if they wish to do so). If the PoV winner uses the PoV to save a nominee, then the HoH must name a replacement nominee.
Other: There may be other types of competitions that pop-up throughout the game.
Competition Format
Non-Live: You will have 24 hours to complete the competition.
Semi-Live: You will be asked to schedule a time to meet with me online via chat to complete the challenge (within a 24 hour period).
Live: All participants will be asked to be online at the same time in the chat room to complete the competition.

As with most (if not all) Big Brother games, you should Expect the Unexpected!
Please note: By applying to and being accepted to play in this game, you are adhering to play by the following rules and regulations.
You must be active (see Strikes for more information)
Since this is an alias-based game; please do not reveal who you are to anyone in the game or outside of the game until AFTER the winner has been crowned!
This game is for entertainment purposes and to celebrate the game we all love, so let’s have fun with it!
Please do not threaten any other person in the game (myself included) with violence; doing so will result in expulsion from the game and any future games.
Mild to moderate use of ‘adult language’ is OK – just be conscious of who you’re talking to. Don’t let it get too excessive or out of control.
Please note that all times for competitions, ceremonies, etc. will be in EST.
Houseguests will be asked to write at least one confessional each round—the more the better (but I realize real life happens).
Houseguests are required to submit their competitions and votes on time; however, if needed you may talk to me for an extension. While not required, it’s a good idea to create and maintain a boot list.
Note that all competitions, twists, etc. have been pre-planned before the game has begun. I will not tolerate anyone accusing me of favoritism (I don’t do that). Also note that some competitions may just be luck-based competitions.
Most competitions and voting will be 24 hour based; meaning that once posted you will have 24 hours to submit your answers, however some competitions may work well in a semi-live or live format, which might be discussed and used if all participating players and myself can agree on the best times to do these.
Please do not cheat. This means don’t share answers or competitions with other players unless the competition is over. Don’t look up things online (unless otherwise stated). Don’t take screenshots (unless otherwise stated) of conversations, competitions, etc. and share with other players. Just don’t do any of these things—it makes you look bad and it doesn’t make for a fun game.
After you are evicted from the game, please refrain from talking to players still in the game. Jury members will be sent to their own chatroom / board to discuss the game.
Realize that I, as host, may add, delete or modify any rules as I see fit.
Strikes can be given to houseguest (upon the host’s discretion) if they:
Do not submit competition requirements without proper notice (at least 12 hours*)
Do not vote when necessary
Do not follow any of the rules and regulations stated above
Do not post their required one confessional each round
* NOTE: I know real life happens and 12 hours notice is not always foreseen; I will work with you in that case.
3 Strikes – Automatic Nomination (without being able to be saved by the Power of Veto)
5 Strikes – Automatic Eviction from the game (without being a part of the Jury)
A photo editing program (such as Paint, PowerPoint, Photoshop, etc.)
Access to Slack (link provided to those houseguests who are accepted) for the social aspect of the game
Access to ProBoards account (which you will create later, once accepted to the game)
Knowledge of the any or all of the following might be useful, but by all means not necessary: any of the US seasons of Big Brother, general mixed trivia in a variety of topics (history, science, math, language, etc.), general pop culture trivia (movies, television, celebrities, etc.). American Horror Story knowledge will not be needed, it's just a good theme to go with 'fear'.
