Bazohli provides wine pairing suggestions from meal text or recipe links, and checks whether a bottle suits a meal. This policy explains what we process, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Who We Are

Bazohli is a wine pairing app for users in Belgium and the Netherlands. No account is required.

2. Information We Process

Meal descriptions, recipe text, recipe URLs, and extracted webpage content.

Label photographs submitted for recognition and structured wine details you review or edit.

Settings such as country, language, budget, and avoided wine styles.

Completed results, including wine details, verdicts, explanations, and recommendations.

Feedback, retailer link impressions/clicks, and operational events.

A random device/session identifier used to understand repeat usage without an account. It is not an advertising ID; submitted content can still contain information that identifies someone.

Basic technical logs needed to operate and debug the service.

Application analytics events exclude label photographs, audio, meal text, wine profiles, and transcripts. Hosting and provider technical records follow their own policies.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to understand meals, generate pairing suggestions and bottle verdicts, show country-aware retailer links, evaluate recommendation/link quality, measure aggregate usage, detect errors, and control service costs.

4. Camera, Voice and AI Processing

Camera access is requested when you choose to scan a label. A reduced JPEG is sent through our backend to OpenAI for recognition. Bazohli does not save label photographs to its database. App-owned temporary images are deleted after the operation, including cancellation or failure. Review recognized wine details before using them. Reviewed structured details are saved with a completed check.

Microphone and speech recognition access is requested when you choose dictation. The device speech service converts audio to editable text. On-device recognition is used when supported and available; otherwise the platform service may process audio online under its own policy. Bazohli disables recording persistence and does not receive or store microphone audio in its backend. This does not promise zero retention by the platform service.

The transcript is sent to Bazohli only when you submit the meal, like typed text. Typed meals and manual wine entry remain available when permissions are denied or unavailable.

Supabase provides backend processing and storage. OpenAI interprets labels and generates pairing results using submitted meal/wine details and settings as needed. API keys remain server-side.

We request that AI responses are not stored as application state. OpenAI may retain content in abuse-monitoring records under its own data controls; default retention is up to 30 days, with exceptions described in OpenAI's data controls: https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/your-data . This is not a promise of zero provider retention.

5. Retailer and Affiliate Links

Some retailer links may be affiliate links. Impressions and clicks help evaluate link quality and commercial performance. Retailer links may open category or search pages rather than exact bottles. We do not control retailer websites or guarantee stock, price, availability, or delivery.

Users must confirm they are legally allowed to view alcohol purchase links in their location before retailer links are shown. Bazohli does not sell alcohol directly.

6. Data Sharing

We use backend hosting/storage and AI processing providers to operate the app, including Supabase and OpenAI. Third-party website policies apply when you open a retailer link. We do not sell personal data.

7. Data Retention

Completed requests, structured wine details, verdicts, recommendations, caches, feedback, operational events, and retailer clicks expire after 30 days in the active application database. An hourly job removes expired records, so removal may occur up to an hour after expiry. Linked feedback, clicks, and events are removed when their parent result expires, even if they are newer. Reading a cached result does not extend retention.

This schedule applies to the active application database. Hosting backups, technical service logs, and external provider records follow their respective retention policies and are separate from this cleanup. Device identifiers stored on your device are separate from server retention.

8. International Processing

Some service providers may process data outside your country. Where required, Bazohli relies on appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, including if you are in the European Economic Area, you may have rights to access your personal data, request correction or deletion, object to or restrict certain processing, request a copy of your data, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Contact bazohli@gmail.com to make a request. Because the app does not require an account, we may ask for information needed to locate relevant records, such as the request date and available request or device/session identifiers. Do not send passwords or API keys.

10. Children

Bazohli is not intended for children. The app includes wine and alcohol-related content and is intended for users legally allowed to view alcohol-related information in their location.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last-updated date.
