The Bay Area Wrestling League just finished a successful pilot season and we're excited to continue to host annual weekend events next January and February. The goal is to provide a competitive, but low stakes and FUN, platform for athletes from kindergarten through 8th grade to practice & compete in the sport of wrestling.
Key features include:
Practices with your local wrestling club. Click on The "BAYWL Teams" tab at the top

Athletes matched for informal matches based on experience, age, and size
Competitions in January & February
Reliable scheduling
Parent volunteers & community building
Our league's mission is to introduce young athletes (and families) to traditional folkstyle wrestling and to provide positive practice and competition opportunities as they begin their journey in the sport. We prioritize teaching fundamental techniques, physical conditioning, and most importantly, sportsmanship. Our focus lies in encouraging goal-setting and personal achievement rather than solely emphasizing outcomes. We expect dedication from our participants, encouraging them to practice diligently and demonstrate respect for their coaches and teammates.
