SPECIAL NOTE:
Click HERE to download the CD that Ray Schilens made for our 40th reunion. Click DOWNLOAD ALL - then look for the downloaded file (it's an MP3 file) on your computer. You may have to deal with "cookies" but then you can play the recording. It's REALLY fun to hear!😀
NOTE - this file will not be available on this website after January 1, 2026, so download it now if you want to keep it!
What an incredible weekend! We are so thankful that the weather cooperated, that most saying they could attend were actually able to be there, and that every venue worked out flawlessly. Everyone seemed to have a great time - such fun to be back with "old" friends sharing some fun memories.
Photos from the event are posted below. If you have any more to share then please send them to Sandi to be posted. Not everyone ended up in photos at every venue, but everyone who came did end up in at least one photo somewhere! Check them out!
Special thanks to Ray Schilens - we have an incredible video for everyone to see. This was the result of interviews Ray did at the 50th reunion - all compiled into one video. Click HERE for the link to see this video. THIS VIDEO WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE END OF 2026. (NOTE: to play the video, you may have to accept some cookies and/or close out some of the options at the bottom first. you should NOT need to open an account to see the video. Then to get it started you click on the tiny triangle at the bottom - not the one on Ray's chest!)
Here's a summary of the event
Friday, July 12
We went on a dinner cruise on the Lady Caroline and it was great. They gave us our own spot for the dinner itself so we didn't have to mingle with others on the boat. The food was good and the company was so fun! And then after dinner most went to the top deck to enjoy the sunset and seeing the city all lit up for the evening. The weather was PERFECT for this event. All in all it was quite special. Those taking the bus to/from the boat had a good time just being together and not having to drive and park. Everything worked out great! See the photos below for a quick summary.
Saturday, July 13
Many started the day by going on a tour of the high school - including the new Alumni Wing. If you haven't seen that wing yet - you should head over. It's incredible they have done. One hundred years of BHS history!! Look for photos below to be added soon. Matt Spellman, the AD, did a great job on the tour taking us all over the building.
That evening we met from 6-9 at the Scenic Valley Room at the Emerald Necklace Marina in Rocky River. The room was just the perfect size for our group, and as the evening progressed many went outside to the lovely patio area. The buffet choices were perfect - and the cake for our dessert was yummy (great photo of that will be added soon, along with other group shots). The highlight of the evening was the video Ray Schilens put together from interviews of our 50th reunion. He also had set up some great music for us to listen to throughout the evening (see below for info to that link). We are so lucky to have Ray's skills helping us out. We did have a zoom and a few folks joined us for a short time there. It was great to at least catch up "in person" with those classmates too.
Sunday, July 14
For those who had to head home early Sunday morning, we had a private room at the Double Tree Hotel (where most were staying) - it was good to again be separated from the normal hotel guests so we could just chat together one last time!
Then for anyone who was still hanging around longer, we met from 11:00-1:30 at the Ironwood Cafe in Westlake for a special lunch. It was hard to say goodbye when this was over - as we all so enjoyed being together one last time!
Thanks Again
Special thanks again to Nancy Lawther Allen and Linda Glaesel Kazen for their efforts arranging Saturday night's dinner, Nancy Allen Furlong and Fran Mitchell Schaul for their efforts arranging Sunday's options, and Nancy Burbach Flowers for her efforts paying required bills. Thanks also to Ray Schilens for putting together a slide for our class and arranging for the zoom. And once again - thanks to our incredible secret donor who covered the costs to help make this reunion extra fun for all.
Please use the "Get In Touch With Us" link at the bottom of this page if you have any questions.
We look forward to seeing everyone again in 2029!

OR you can download it and play it whenever. VERY FUN! ENJOY! (Thanks to Ray Schilens for putting this together, and to Dave Sinkler for saving the reel to reel tapes all those years!)

Thanks to Ray Schilens for creating a great playlist on Spotify for our class. it's called Bay High 55th Celebration and has over 160 songs from our time!
Spotify can be free for the basic music - so just download the app on your phone and/or computer, sign in, and play away (as long as you are on wifi). If you want to download the songs so you can play them in a car (or outside of wifi) you will need the paid version.
Just click here to access the songs and add them to your library for regular enjoyment. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0GO14qmDJtGdHHX6lNZAaO
If you don't currently receive The Shoreline (either by mail or email) and want to receive it - then sign up through Bay Alumni to receive a copy. They come out about quarterly. Past editions are archived on the alumni website as well.
