About the Mirror

This meeting mirrors the main BayesComp 2027 conference, held in Texas on the same week. As such, it will broadcast sessions from the main conference, including plenary sessions, host local talk and poster sessions, and more generally provide an alternative forum for researchers in Bayesian computational statistics who cannot attend BayesComp 2027. Following a debate launched at the ISBA 2024 World Meeting in Venezia, ISBA is now considering mirror (or multi-hub) meetings as a possible way to address accessibility, sustainability, and inclusiveness issues in its scientific meetings. 

The call for contributions is now open. Participants are invited to submit proposals for talks and poster presentations. The scientific committee will select presentations soon after the submission deadline. Note that due to the capacity of the conference centre the number of participants will be capped at 200.

Participants to the mirror meeting agree to follow the ISBA code of conduct during and in relation with the meeting.

Registration

Registration will open after the proposals are assessed by the Scientific Committee and when the fees (supporting the main BayesComp 2027 conference) are confirmed. There should be no local fees.

Mirror Sessions

In collaboration with the organisers of BayesComp, the local organisers are exploring options for broadcasting in Aussois selected talks from Texas, and for broadcasting in Texas selected talks from Aussois.

Aussois

The mirror is taking place at CAES Paul Langevin, in Aussois, French Alps. The place is a vacation centre owned by French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) that has housed several Bayesian conferences in the past, including O'Bayes 2003. It offers a capacity of 200 participants, with single and double rooms, for a full board daily rate between 92 € and 105 €. The village of Aussois offers further possibilities for accommodation, as an off-season ski resort.

Travelling to Aussois is easy, thanks to direct, fast trains to Modane from Paris (4h), Torino (1h), and Lyon (2h). And by car if need be, since Modane is the French exit of the Tunnel du Fréjus/Traforo Alpino del Fréjus.
