Bayan Basketball was founded in 2008, when a group of parents came together to build a basketball team to compete in Filipino-Canadian community leagues and Ontario Basketball tournaments.
What began as a single division has since grown into multiple divisions and teams for youth, adults, and senior players, competing both regionally and in North American tournaments such as the North American Basketball Association (NABA).
Throughout that growth, our purpose has remained constant: to cultivate a love of basketball while instilling values that transcend the court. We are committed to developing not only capable players, but disciplined, confident, and community-minded individuals.
Our programs are led by Head Coach, Coach Patrick Dooc, a University of Toronto graduate in Kinesiology and a Canada Basketball Licensed Coach (NCCP). With ten years of coaching experience, four years of community refereeing, and a playing background that includes the Ontario Basketball Association leagues and tournaments, Philippine Canadian Prospects Team, and a high school captaincy, he brings both technical expertise and a player-first approach to every program. As a Registered Massage Therapist, Coach Patrick also places strong emphasis on athlete wellness and long-term development.
At Bayan Basketball, we remain proud to build a community where athletes of all ages can grow, compete, and belong.
