The Bawdsey PhotoPost project is a public and community monitoring enterprise involving the Deben Estuary Partnership, Bawdsey Parish Council, and coastal scientist Helene Burningham of University College London (UCL).

Bawdsey PhotoPosts are posts permanently positioned at predetermined location. On the top is a metal bracket into which one can place a smart phone. Anyone visiting the sites where these are installed can take part - just take a photograph from the post and upload it to the Facebook sites linked above, or email bawdseyphotoposts@gmail.com. If you include a few details such as date and time, the photos can be used to provide us all with a record of change, and also analysed to support and influence future decisions about coastal management.

Initial funding for the project was obtained through the Sustainable Development Fund provided by Defra and managed by Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB.
