bauxite | BOX-ite | A brownish-red, white, or tan sedimentary rock discovered in France in 1821. It is the principal ore of Aluminum, as well as the world's main source of both Aluminum and Gallium.

BAUXITE is an independent literary magazine based in Arkansas. We serve to uplift the underdog; that is, to hand a megaphone to small but powerful literary voices from all across the world and give them a chance to speak through their work. We don't mind getting our hands dirty—hard not to when living in some of the most rural, poverty-stricken areas of America. 

Established in May 2026, BAUXITE keeps forgetting to update this little end blurb at the end of this text box despite it being the first thing anyone sees. Oh, and Issue II just released.
