Effective systems for reasoning under uncertainty, analyzing data, and estimating causal effects all depend on core algorithmic foundations. My work merges database theory, graph algorithms, and probabilistic inference to tackle real-world challenges. I study how errors in statistical assumptions propagate in probabilistic models (UAI 2021, JAIR 2025), develop enumeration-based methods for data profiling (ICDT 2025) and for extracting relational structure from data (SIGMOD 2020, PODS 2023), and develop graph algorithms that underlie these challenges (WG 2025). Our group’s goal is to develop theory for problems arising in data management and related domains, implement it, and apply it to real-world challenges.
