After the success of Doctor Who Battles in Time and their profitable two year run. Using some similarities from Battles in Time cards such as the ratings these cards appeared to follow the same premise as its predecessor and were based on the Doctor Who spin off Torchwood. The Torchwood cards consisted of 200 cards, being numbered from 001-200 featuring characters from TV: Everything Changes-Exit Wounds. They were split into the following categories:

160 (C) Common cards (8 in every pack)

25 (R) Rare cards (1 in every pack)

10 (SR) Super-Rare cards (1 in every 6 packs)

5 (UR) Ultra-Rare cards (1 in every 24 packs)

These cards were put on sale on Wednesday 16th of April 2008, however unlike with Doctor Who, there was no magazine to go along with them and were only available for purchase from some specialist shops such as Forbidden Planet.

Notably, there was no "1 in 1000 pack" card in this set and it was aimed more toward the adult audience. As a whole, these cards were more premium feeling than Battles in Time which one would expect given their higher price tag of £2.99 per pack.

As with most of the newer "Battles in Time" sets, the Torchwood cards came with their own website "www.torchwoodcards.com" sadly, though the Wayback machine has captured this, the site is not available to view.
