Im going through the soundtrack on Spotify and i cant find the Quantum Battle song, and i cant find a reliable source that says what songs are used in encounters. The wiki says that its either Paranoia Museum (it isnt) or Barge (not on the soundtrack anywhere). Its one of my favorite songs in the game. Is it just not on Spotify or what?

So we all know the infamous battle song that goes "dun, dun dun dun, dun dun dun da dun dun BWEEEEEEE" right? Well I finally figured out what it is. Its "Volatile Reaction" by Kevin MacLeod. I know this isnt exactly on topic, but I recognized the song in another video but couldnt remember where I knew it from. So I was pretty excited when I found it in the Critical Role spotify playlist (I figured out the composer by their style, and wondered if Matt used his music. Low and behold, I was right).

The "Battle Hymn of the Republic", also known as "Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory" or "Glory, Glory Hallelujah" outside of the United States, is an American patriotic song written by abolitionist writer Julia Ward Howe during the American Civil War.

At a flag-raising ceremony at Fort Warren, near Boston, Massachusetts, on Sunday, May 12, 1861, the song "John Brown's Body", using the "Oh! Brothers" tune and the "Glory, Hallelujah" chorus, was publicly played "perhaps for the first time".[citation needed] The American Civil War had begun the previous month.

Kimball's battalion was dispatched to Murray, Kentucky, early in the Civil War, and Julia Ward Howe heard this song during a public review of the troops outside Washington, D.C., on Upton Hill, Virginia. Rufus R. Dawes, then in command of Company "K" of the 6th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, stated in his memoirs that the man who started the singing was Sergeant John Ticknor of his company. Howe's companion at the review, the Reverend James Freeman Clarke,[9] suggested to Howe that she write new words for the fighting men's song. Staying at the Willard Hotel in Washington on the night of November 18, 1861, Howe wrote the verses to the "Battle Hymn of the Republic."[10] Of the writing of the lyrics, Howe remembered:

Both "John Brown" and "Battle Hymn of the Republic" were published in Father Kemp's Old Folks Concert Tunes in 1874 and reprinted in 1889. Both songs had the same Chorus with an additional "Glory" in the second line: "Glory! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!"[12]

The tune has played a role in many movies where patriotic music has been required, including the 1970 World War II war comedy Kelly's Heroes, and the 1999 sci-fi western Wild Wild West. Words from the first verse gave John Steinbeck's wife Carol Steinbeck the title of his 1939 masterpiece The Grapes of Wrath.[25] The title of John Updike's In the Beauty of the Lilies also came from this song, as did Terrible Swift Sword and Never Call Retreat, two volumes in Bruce Catton's Centennial History of the Civil War. Terrible Swift Sword is also the name of a board wargame simulating the Battle of Gettysburg.[26]

Words from the second last line of the last verse are paraphrased in Leonard Cohen's song "Steer Your Way".[27] It was originally published as a poem in The New Yorker magazine.[28] "As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free" becomes "As He died to make men holy, let us die to make things cheap".

Ross clearly researches his subjects thoroughly and the text is packed with detail of the times including the types of armour, living conditions, horses, tournament techniques, chivalry and medieval politics. He is also exceptionally good at describing the real battle scenes that occur later in the book. Despite all this detail nobody should find the book dull; it certainly kept me enthralled.

The composer, truesailorcomet, proposed a lot of songs for "Daughter of Discord." They were great ideas, but unfortunately due to pacing and time constraints, they could not all fit into the story. They could not all fit into the story. This song, however, was one I immediately fell in love with! True had even put in some ideas for lyrics (such as "I loved you but you tossed me away") and I filled in the blanks. Usually, I propose a melody and True cleans it up a bit, but this melody was all True. Honestly, I think of all the songs we've, this is the best example of our collaboration.

GW FIGHT SONG:

In 1924, Eugene Sweeney wrote the song entitled Buff and Blue, which served as the fight song for the GW Football Team. In the 1990's Patrick M. Jones rewrote the song so that it could be used for any GW athletic contest and entitled it The GW Fight Song. The Fight Song can be heard at GW sporting events. Also, as you walk around campus, you will hear the carillon chimes ring out the GW Fight Song twice a day at 12:15 and 6pm.

Michigan's famous fight song, The Victors, was written in November of 1898. Louis Elbel, a music student at the University, wrote the words and the music in celebration of a last minute 12-11 Michigan victory over rival Chicago, giving U-M its first Western Conference football championship. The Victors was first played in public by John Philip Sousa's band in May of 1899 in Ann Arbor. Sousa later called it the "best college march ever written."

Ling-Ling's Battle Song is Ling-Ling's theme song that is recurrently featured in Drawn Together. This song usually plays whenever Ling-Ling goes into battle mode. In the official soundtrack, it's listed as the Ling Ling Theme. The lyrics emphasize Ling-Ling's brutal nature and reiterate that he is from a children's anime show. Most of the lyrics consist of Engrish, and the chorus is sung by a group of children (Kris McGaha) and the main singer is what is presumed to be their honorable slavedriver, Drawn Together composer, Eban Schletter.

Although "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" is today considered the preeminent Northern war song, Union soldiers were more likely to bestow that honor upon "The Battle Cry of Freedom." Willard A. and Porter W. Heaps, writing in The Singing Sixties, call "The Battle Cry of Freedom" `the type of rousing tune which appears seldom during a period of war and but once in a generation."

Composed in haste in a single day in response to President Abraham Lincoln's July 1862 call for 300,000 volunteers to fill the shrinking ranks of the Union Army, the song was first performed on July 24 and again on July 26 at a massive war rally. Composer-lyricist George F. Root recalled years later, "From there the song went into the army, and the testimony in regard to its use in the camp and on the march, and even on the field of battle, from soldiers and officers, up to the good President himself, made me thankful that if I could not shoulder a musket in defense of my country I could serve her in this way."

When the War Between the States broke out, Root began to write inspirational songs for the Union war effort. Although his earlier attempts at popular pieces had so embarrassed him that he signed them with the name "Wurzel" (German for "root") so as not to compromise his reputation as a serious composer, he now showed no hesitation in turning out song after song. Other works such as "Just Before the Battle, Mother" and "Tramp! Tramp! Tramp!" quickly established him as perhaps the most popular and certainly the most prolific of wartime composer/songwriters.

What made Root's song so compelling? According to Kenneth A. Bernard, author of Lincoln and the Music of the Civil War, the tune appeared at just the right time, "expressing just the sentiments that were needed, with music that was singable and words that were appropriate" and played "an immeasurably important part in restoring and sustaining morale at home and at the front throughout the entire war."

A measure of the song's success can be seen in the flurry of imitations that appeared soon after its publication. William H. Barnes, the manager of the Atlanta Amateurs, a group of volunteer musicians who performed for the benefit of various soldiers' relief funds, penned a set of Confederate lyrics that were adapted to Root's tune (with some rhythmic changes) by composer Hermann L. Schreiner. Another knock-off, "Rally Round the Flag," had mundane lyrics and was produced by James T. Fields and William B. Bradbury.

We are springing to the call

Of our brothers gone before,

Shouting the battle cry of Freedom;

And we'll fill our vacant ranks with

A million free men more,

Shouting the battle cry of Freedom.

So we're springing to the call

From the East and from the West,

Shouting the battle cry of Freedom;

And we'll hurl the rebel crew

From the land that we love best,

Shouting the battle cry of Freedom.
