I am currently the CEO and a partner at Security Fence Company, a fencing contractor specializing in commercial and residential fences, gates, and gate automation. Founded by my father in 1990, I took on a leadership role in 2020, helping propel the company to new heights by increasing annual revenue tenfold in just four years. We also secured key partnerships and facilitated a successful buyout retirement for the previous owner—my dad. Today, our focus is on growing Security Fence Company beyond our Georgia roots, with the aim of establishing it as a well-known brand across the Southeast. While our team is small, it is mighty, and we have consistently completed large projects in collaboration with some of the industry's leading general contractors.
Through strategic leadership we have been able to partner with Habitat of Humanity of Hall County, allowing us to give fences to new homeowners and sit in an advisory role for the future of Habitat of Humanity.
With a new ownership structure in place, Security Fence Company is embarking on its next chapter with the mission of becoming an industry leader. Achieving this goal will require cultivating new relationships, implementing fresh advertising and marketing strategies, and adopting innovative technologies to scale effectively. These exciting new ventures will be documented and shared on this site, TikTok, and some of my other social media platforms.
Other Current Projects:
Sales Consultant – I provide sales guidance and support for a local commercial HVAC contractor.
Math Tutor Contractor - On the side a tutor math for highschool students and those studying the GRE.
BattenVentures - A place to document and generate ad revenue through entreprenuerial content.
In 2023, I founded Guardian Fence Products LLC to provide more affordable aluminum fence products for Security Fence Company and other fence builders. The company proved to be successful, but due to the recent changes in the ownership structure of Security Fence Company, it became necessary to dissolve Guardian Fence Products for the deal.
What sparked entrepreneurship for me...
In 2019 I got asked to join a film production startup and development company as a development producer and a 2nd assistnat director for the pilot filming of a comedy TV show.
On many occasions I had to wear multiple hats, including photography, business office management, new client relationships, and product developement. Here is where I began to understand the power of relationships and networking.
Through several months of hard work we were able to incurr capital, a great team, and a hunger for success. Unfortuantely, when COVID-19 pandemic hit in early 2020, the film industry was shut down and we weren't able weather that storm. If the timing was different, I proabbly would still be in film today, but God had other plans and I see now why that is the case. This experience jumpstarted my hunger for entreprenuership and risk taking as well as proper risk management. This time of my life wasn't easy, but it was worth it.
