Summary: Your bat, match, fitness, and profile data stay stored locally on your device only, and are never uploaded by us. Knockmate uses two third-party services, Google AdMob (to show ads to free users) and RevenueCat (to process one-time Pro purchases), which independently collect limited technical data as described below. We do not run our own servers and do not otherwise collect, store, or sell personal information.
Knockmate is a cricket bat preparation, match performance, and fitness companion app. This Privacy Policy explains how we, and the third-party services we use, handle information when you use the Knockmate mobile application.
Knockmate stores the following data locally on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or have any access to this data ourselves:
Bat profiles (name, brand, notes, weight, target knocks, phase progress)
Knocking session records (knock count, duration, date, source)
Heatmap zone data
Match performance records (runs, wickets, catches, dismissals, optional scorecard photo)
Net Session and Match Day history
Player profile (name, location, gender, age range, batting style, playing role — all optional)
App preferences (theme, font size)
Knockmate requests microphone access only during active knocking sessions, to automatically count bat knock sounds in real time. We do not record, store, or transmit any audio. No audio data is ever saved, by us or by any third party.
Knockmate may request camera or photo library access to let you photograph your bats or attach an optional scorecard/match photo. These photos are stored locally on your device only and are not uploaded anywhere by us.
Knockmate may request notification permission to remind you about prep phases, upcoming matches, or Net Session summaries. Notifications are scheduled and delivered locally on your device.
Free-tier users of Knockmate are shown ads served through Google AdMob. Pro users (one-time purchase) never see ads.
To serve ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects certain data on our behalf, including your device's advertising ID, IP address, and general device and interaction information, for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention. Knockmate requests non-personalized ads by default.
This is a real exception to "no data leaves your device," and it is why our Google Play Data Safety declaration states that the app uses the Advertising ID. For more detail on what Google's ad SDK collects, see Google's own disclosure: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543
If you purchase Knockmate Pro, the transaction is processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play, and purchase validation is handled through RevenueCat, a third-party subscription and purchase management service. RevenueCat receives your purchase receipt and a device-generated identifier to confirm your entitlement to Pro features. RevenueCat does not receive your name, bat data, match data, or profile information; none of that is transmitted anywhere by us.
For more detail, see RevenueCat's own privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
Personal identification information such as your name, email, or address (your Profile name is optional, stays on-device, and is never sent to us)
Location data
Financial or payment card information (handled entirely by Apple/Google, never seen by us)
Your bat photos, match photos, or any app content
Your app content — bats, sessions, matches, and profile — is stored locally on your device. We do not operate our own servers, databases, or cloud storage for this data, and it never passes through us. The advertising and purchase data described above is collected directly by Google AdMob and RevenueCat under their own respective privacy practices, not by us.
Knockmate is a sports utility app intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Note that free-tier use of the app does involve non-personalized ad serving through Google AdMob, as described above; Pro users (one-time purchase) do not see ads at all. If you are a parent concerned about ad content shown to a child using the free tier, purchasing Pro removes ads entirely.
App content stored locally depends on your device's own security features; we recommend keeping your device secured with a screen lock. Data handled by Google AdMob and RevenueCat is secured under their own respective security practices.
You can access, review, or delete your locally stored app content at any time from within the app (including a full data export before reset), or by uninstalling the app, which removes all locally stored data. For data collected by Google AdMob or RevenueCat, their own privacy policies (linked above) describe your rights and choices regarding that data, including how to reset or opt out of ad personalization through your device's own settings.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
