• BASN BmasterX 6 — biggest strength: a hybrid six-driver array (one dynamic driver, three balanced armatures, two piezoelectric tweeters) with deep sound isolation and a detachable silver-plated OFC cable.
• BASN BmasterX 6 — biggest trade-off: it is wired and aimed at critical listening, so there's no Bluetooth freedom and no battery to lean on.
• REAL YOUNG H700 — biggest strength: open-ear comfort at only 10.5g per earbud, Bluetooth 5.4, dual drivers with Qualcomm QCC3091 tech, and up to 40 hours of total playtime.
• REAL YOUNG H700 — biggest trade-off: the open-ear design deliberately lets outside sound in, so it can't give you the sealed, isolated monitoring experience a wired IEM provides.
• Who each is for: BmasterX 6 is for musicians, engineers and detail-obsessed listeners; H700 is for commuters, casual listeners and anyone who wants earbuds that double as a wearable accessory.
The BmasterX 6 is unapologetically a professional in-ear monitor. BASN packs six drivers into each housing — a dynamic driver for warm bass, three balanced armatures for rich mids, and two piezoelectric tweeters for ultra-detailed highs. That layered driver setup is the whole point: it's built so you can hear separation between instruments, catch small mix problems, and monitor a performance without the low end smearing over everything else. If you've only used single-driver earbuds, the amount of detail a design like this can resolve is genuinely a different category of listening.
Who should buy it: working and gigging musicians, singers, drummers, DJs, audio engineers, and audiophiles who want an uncolored, wired reference they can trust. Who should skip it: anyone whose main use is walking, commuting or working out wirelessly. There's no battery, no Bluetooth, and the sound-isolating fit is the opposite of staying aware of traffic or a barista calling your name.
REAL YOUNG H700: Who It's For
The H700 is a completely different philosophy. REAL YOUNG designed these as jewelry first — a dragon wing silhouette with an elfin-inspired shape, CNC-engraved texture, and a premium aluminum finish in Amethyst Purple with a matching case. That design work earned Gold Awards from the French Design Award and MUSE Design Awards, and it shows in the details: aluminum, faux leather, titanium, silicone and polycarbonate all in the build. The result is a product people buy partly because they like looking at it.
On the audio side, the H700 uses dual drivers with Qualcomm QCC3091 technology and a 12mm driver size, with a 20 Hz–20 kHz frequency range, 16 ohm impedance and 106 dB sensitivity. The open-ear design is the defining feature — it sits outside your ear canal rather than sealing it, so music plays while traffic, announcements and conversations still come through. That's a real safety and awareness advantage for commuting, coffee breaks and daily listening, and it's exactly why it can't replicate the isolation of the BASN monitors.
Who should buy it: commuters, casual listeners, yoga and light-workout users, and anyone who wants earbuds that feel like an accessory rather than a piece of studio gear — it's also an obvious gift candidate. Who should skip it: anyone who needs sealed isolation, wired monitoring, or truly critical listening. The open-ear design lets the world in by definition.
Side-by-Side: Which Should You Choose?
• Best for monitoring, mixing and stage work → BASN BmasterX 6. Six drivers per side and a physical seal are built for hearing detail, not for background music.
• Best for battery life and wireless freedom → REAL YOUNG H700. Bluetooth 5.4 and up to 40 hours of total playtime with no cable involved.
• Best for staying aware of your surroundings → REAL YOUNG H700. Open-ear listening is the entire point of the design.
• Best for blocking out the room → BASN BmasterX 6. The sound-isolating fit and multiple tip sizes are aimed squarely at that job.
• Best for long sessions without fatigue → REAL YOUNG H700 at 10.5g per earbud, though the BmasterX 6's lightweight build and seven tip options are also designed for extended wear.
• Best for device flexibility → BASN BmasterX 6. Interchangeable 3.5mm, 4.4mm and USB-C plugs cover stage mixers, interfaces, DAPs and phones.
• Best for sweat, rain and workouts → REAL YOUNG H700. IPX7 protection is a genuine advantage the wired monitors don't offer.
• Best for a gift or a style statement → REAL YOUNG H700. The jewelry-inspired design and award recognition make it an easy present.
My Verdict
No. It's a wired in-ear monitor with a detachable silver-plated OFC MMCX cable and interchangeable 3.5mm, 4.4mm and USB-C plugs. There's no Bluetooth and no battery.
Not in the way sealed earbuds do. It uses environmental noise cancellation for calls, but the open-ear design intentionally lets ambient sound in so you stay aware of your surroundings.
The REAL YOUNG H700, in my opinion. IPX7 water resistance and a 10.5g-per-earbud G-shaped hook are made for sweat, rain and light movement. The BmasterX 6 is a wired stage monitor with no water-resistance rating.
Yes — the USB-C plug option and the 3.5mm plug cover most phones and mobile devices, though some phones will need the appropriate plug or an adapter depending on what port they have.
The REAL YOUNG H700. Its jewelry-inspired design, gift-ready packaging and wireless convenience make it the easier present for someone who isn't a musician.
