The Basic Skills Workshop was founded in 2012 as a part of Purdue University's Association for Women in Mathematics by Lidia Mrad to provide workshops to Purdue graduate students providing skills outside the traditional academic setting. We cover topics such as navigating graduate school, teaching, career planning, using technology for professional purposes, etc. Students can register for the Basic Skills Workshop as a one-credit-hour seminar course during the fall and spring semesters.
Currently, the Basic Skills Workshop is co-organized by Leah McNabb & Rafael Ceja Ayala.
The Basic Skills Workshop is partially funded by the Department of Mathematics at Purdue University. Special thanks to the Association for Women in Mathematics, Purdue Chapter for their support.
