BASICS is a new annual, local conference series. The first iteration was hosted by UC Santa Cruz. We will have 1.5 days of relaxed talks, with long break periods for discussion and catching up with colleagues.
Confirmed Speakers

Sean Colin-Ellerin (UC Berkeley): Generalized entropy of gravitational fluctuations
Joseph DeRose (Berkeley National Lab): Inferring fundamental physics from cosmological probes of large scale structure
Aasmund Folkestad (UC Davis): Subregion independence in gravity
Luca Iliesiu (UC Berkeley): Supersymmetric flatspace holography
Mukund Rangamani (UC Davis): Looking at extremal black holes from very far away
Avikar Periwal (Harvard University): Holography with programmable photon-mediated interactions between atoms
