• Baseus Bass BP1 — biggest strength: adaptive hybrid ANC with up to -50dB reduction, LDAC hi-res audio, Bluetooth 6.0, and up to 55 hours total playtime with the case. It is a true everyday music and call companion.
• Baseus Bass BP1 — biggest trade-off: it is an in-ear bud with touch controls and an app you may want to use for full customization. If you dislike fiddling with ear tips or touch gestures, that is friction.
• RETRADEKING TV Headphones — biggest strength: a single-button, no-volume-knob design paired with a dedicated transmitter. Plug it into the TV, control volume with the TV remote, and you are done.
• RETRADEKING TV Headphones — biggest trade-off: it is locked to its own transmitter and built purely for TV listening, so it is not the headset you grab for a commute or a workout.
• Who Baseus Bass BP1 is for: commuters, gym-goers, travelers and anyone who wants one pair of earbuds for music, calls and noise blocking.
• Who RETRADEKING TV Headphones is for: people who mainly want to hear the TV clearly and comfortably, including seniors and anyone who finds complex electronics frustrating.
The Baseus Bass BP1 Pro is built around noise cancelling. It uses up to four real-time noise sensors, recognizes wideband noise up to 4 kHz, and reduces it by as much as -50dB. In practice that means engine drone on a bus, air-conditioning hum in an office, or the general rumble of a train carriage gets pushed into the background instead of sitting on top of your music. There are five ANC modes you can switch between in the Baseus app, which matters if you want one setting for a flight and a lighter one for walking around town where you still want to hear traffic.
Audio is the second pillar. The earbuds are Hi-Res certified and use the LDAC codec, which transmits roughly three times the audio detail of a standard Bluetooth stream — useful if you stream from a service that actually serves high-bitrate files. On top of that, an adaptive Active EQ adjusts with volume, and you can lean toward SuperBass for punchy low end or SuperBalance for a more even, detailed presentation. The dynamic driver covers a 20Hz–20kHz range.
Battery and durability round it out. You get up to 12 hours per charge and 55 hours total with ANC off, or 7 hours and 36 hours total with ANC on. A 10-minute rapid charge adds about 2.5 hours. The buds are IP55 rated for dust, sweat and splashes, and there are six microphones with AI noise reduction for calls. Connectivity is Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint, so you can stay linked to a laptop and a phone at the same time, and the whole thing carries a 2-year warranty.
Buy it if you want one pair of earbuds that handles commuting, workouts, calls and travel with real noise cancelling. Skip it if you want to watch TV from across the room on a dedicated over-ear headset, or if you simply prefer not to deal with ear tips and touch controls.
The RETRADEKING JFH-280TV solves a narrower but very real problem: hearing the TV without turning it up for everyone else. Its defining feature is the absence of a volume control on the headset. There is one button. You adjust loudness with your normal TV remote. For someone whose hands are stiff, whose eyesight is poor, or who has never gotten comfortable with menus and multi-button gadgets, that single decision removes almost all of the learning curve.
Setup is deliberately simple. The micro USB transmitter has a built-in F-type antenna and supports optical, 3.5mm AUX, RCA and USB audio outputs, which covers the vast majority of modern and older TVs. You plug in, select PCM in your TV's digital audio output settings if you are using optical, and you are listening. Range is quoted at up to 30 meters, including through a wall — enough to walk to the kitchen and still hear the broadcast.
The over-ear design is aimed squarely at comfort. Soft protein leather and breathable mesh on the ear muffs, a retractable and rotatable stand, and a headband that can be straightened 180° without snapping. The company specifically notes it fits comfortably over glasses. Inside is a 40mm dynamic driver tuned for clear dialogue, with 32-ohm impedance, 105dB sensitivity and a 20Hz–20kHz range. Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX low-latency coding keeps audio and video in sync, which is exactly what you want for news and films. The 500mAh battery is rated for 30 hours per charge with a 2-hour charge time, and the headset weighs 206 grams.
One important limitation: the headphones and transmitter are matched and must be used together. This is not a general-purpose Bluetooth headset you pair with a phone.
Side-by-Side: Which Should You Choose?
• Best for noise cancelling → Baseus Bass BP1. Up to -50dB adaptive hybrid ANC with five modes; the RETRADEKING uses passive sound isolation only.
• Best for TV and movie watching → RETRADEKING TV Headphones. Purpose-built transmitter, aptX low latency, 40mm drivers tuned for dialogue.
• Best for battery life → RETRADEKING TV Headphones on a single charge (up to 30 hours), but Baseus Bass BP1 wins on total system runtime (up to 55 hours with the case).
• Best for seniors or anyone who wants zero setup fuss → RETRADEKING TV Headphones. No volume buttons, plug and play, TV remote does the work.
• Best for music quality and hi-res streaming → Baseus Bass BP1. LDAC, Hi-Res certification and adaptive Active EQ.
• Best for commuting, gym and travel → Baseus Bass BP1. IP55 rating, in-ear fit, compact charging case.
• Best for calls → Baseus Bass BP1. Six microphones with AI noise reduction and multipoint Bluetooth 6.0.
• Best for long-session comfort over the ear → RETRADEKING TV Headphones. Over-ear protein leather and mesh, fits over glasses, 206g.
If I had to pick one, I would buy the Baseus Bass BP1. It is the more versatile product by a wide margin: real active noise cancelling, hi-res audio, a 55-hour case, IP55 protection and a 2-year warranty cover far more of daily life. However, that recommendation comes with a clear exception. If your goal is watching television comfortably — particularly if you are buying for an older parent — the RETRADEKING TV Headphones are the smarter choice. The single-button, TV-remote-controlled design is genuinely thoughtful for that use case, and no set of earbuds replicates it. Match the product to the job, and either one will serve you well. Check the current price on Amazon before you commit.
They do different jobs. The Baseus is a general-purpose noise-cancelling earbud for music, calls and travel. The RETRADEKING is a dedicated TV headset with a matched transmitter. Neither replaces the other.
Not in the usual way. The headphones and transmitter are paired together and designed to work as a set, so it functions as a TV headset rather than a normal Bluetooth headphone you pair with anything.
As long as your TV has an optical (TOSLINK), 3.5mm AUX, RCA or USB audio output, it should work. Check your TV's ports before buying, and if you use the optical connection, set the TV's digital audio output format to PCM.
In my opinion, the RETRADEKING TV Headphones. Removing the volume buttons and letting the TV remote handle loudness eliminates most of the confusion. The Baseus is a better all-round product but demands more interaction.
The Baseus Bass BP1 has active noise cancelling, so it reduces surrounding sound for the wearer. But it does not silence the TV for anyone else in the room — only the RETRADEKING setup keeps the TV audio private to the listener.
