Visual Arts Activities and Lessons (K-12)
Teachers and students will engage in learning activities based on information obtained from resources like the Baseball Heritage Museum website and Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. In each lesson, students will complete an activity based on the Ohio Visual Arts Learning Standards for Creativity, Performance, Connecting, and Responding.
Social Studies Activities and Lessons (K-8)
Students and teachers can use these activities in their social studies classes to connect the sport of baseball and it's history to their own understanding of the world. The activities will cover many Ohio Common Core Standards within social studies in grades K-8. There are activities for a veriety of strands within social studies.
History Activities and Lessons (High School)
Teachers can instruct history through the lens of Baseball and historic culture. These lessons will help students comprehend the importance of humanities and history through lessons based on a baseball theme. Teachers can help students connect humanities, baseball, and history with these prepared lessons. The activities cover Ohio Common Core Standards
Language Arts Activities and Lessons (K-8)
These language arts activities allow students to develop their writing and analytical skills through the lens of baseball. These lessons and activities are mapped to the Ohio ELA Common Core Standards.
English and Literature Activities and Lessons (High School)
The activities and lessons for high school English classes ask students to read both essays and literature with a focus on baseball, heritage, and culture. The readings are the basis for writing assignments and discussions. These lessons and activities are mapped to the Ohio ELA Common Core Standards.
Math and Science Activities and Lessons K-12
Mathematics and science are integral to the sport of baseball. Statistics are vitally important in baseball, as are elements of physics and physiology. These lessons and activities are mapped to the Ohio ELA Common Core Standards.
