Our Stat Books module allows coaches to export all the stats available on their team or an opponent into an Excel file. Sort and filter by more than ten split types, create your own custom charts and data visualizations, or export tabular statistics directly into your own scouting reports. And finally, coaches can view historical rosters all the way back to 2017 and export by season or by career.

Print Settings correlate to each of the sections within the Scouting Report. You have the ability to control Cover, Keys, Personnel, Depth Chart, Skills List, Reports and Plays. The Snapshot Chart, located in the Team Tab of your scouting report can be printed as well.

Prep Baseball is the No. 1 resource for amateur baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state. While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

Prep Baseball has more full-time scouts than any other independent amateur scouting company in the country. The Prep Baseball Report is currently in 41 states and Canada, each with a scouting director that focuses on the amateur talent in their respective territory. Prep Baseball's hyper-local focus is augmented by its national scouting staff that focuses on the top national prospects in all prep classes.

In other display cases, there's a knife that longtime scout Bill Clark brought back from an otherwise fruitless trip to Mali; the scouting report that Dodgers scout Mel Didier filed for the 1988 World Series in which he predicted that A's closer Dennis Eckersley would try a backdoor slider with a full count -- which is what he threw to Kirk Gibson in Game 1; the big straw hat worn by Tony Lucadello, who signed Hall of Famers Ferguson Jenkins and Mike Schmidt; even the scripts from "A League of Their Own" ("I know the goods when I see the goods, and she's the goods") and "Moneyball."

That's why the most intriguing element of the HOF tribute is the creation of an interactive, online database of more than 14,000 scouting reports prepared in collaboration with SABR. Visitors onsite in Cooperstown and online at www.baseballhall.org will be able to access a treasure trove of 441 scouts, covering 4,444 players from 1943 through 2006. Here are just a few that show what scouts of different eras were seeing, and thinking:

The 1965 scouting report on a USC sophomore pitcher named Tom Seaver read: "This boy showed a real good fast ball with good life  boy has plenty of desire to pitch and wants to beat you." It was signed by Dodgers scout Tom Lasorda.

Hitting:

Quite simply: the ability to routinely put the ball into play by making solid contact with the barrel of the bat on the middle of the ball. As you can note from the scouting report above, this is different from hitting for power, which is graded out as a different tool. This is more the ability to hit for a high batting average. Factors that scouts look at when evaluating this tool include:

Baseball began reinventing itself last season, when little things mattered again in the first season of tougher steroids testing. Home runs were down 8 percent. Runs sank 4.5 percent. The average velocity for pitchers, according to scouting reports filed, dropped from 92 mph to approximately 89 mph.

Before we start, you can find this training resource and more on the Baseball IQ app. When it comes to making the leap from high school to college baseball, preparation and planning are key. The easiest way to gain an advantage over hitters is understanding what pitches they like and dislike as well as their tendencies at the plate. Many college players are exposed to scouting reports at a basic level, but few realize that scouting reports that are generated by a coaching staff are designed to be generic summaries of hitters. In this article we will look at creating your own personalized scouting reports to help you gain a further edge and begin to internalize your identity on the mound.

Before we get going let me make this point clear: scouting reports written by the pitchers are way more effective than reports written by coaches. The reason being, that when it is your own work you internalize the information at a higher rate. Getting in the routine of making your starting pitcher for the next day, or game, sit behind home plate, with a pen and paper, and take notes on the lineup they will face is insanely beneficial for their development as a cerebral player. Too often starting pitchers sit on the bench and take the day off when they are not pitching that day. So keeping your staff engaged and in the action via scouting report creation is not just good for them but good for the team.

I created a new template for linking to stats sites. It combines the previous ones into a single template and allows for automated linking to the correct page if the page id is not specified. The template is in my sandbox presently, and I have made examples on Roy Halladay and Chris Young (outfielder). For Halladay, the automatic linking work just fine for espn and baseball-reference and almost perfectly for mlb, but for Young it does not work because of the (outfielder) appendage in the page name. When appendages like that are added (or other name oddities), specifying the page id is necessary like it is in the current templates. The styling is modeled after the external links template used in city articles. I can add other sites to the template if desired. -- Basar (talk tag_hash_110 contribs) 05:19, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Firstly, you're right about the id from the baseball-reference.com template being transcluded into the new template. My bad there. But now that's been settled, take a look a few things that will happen if and when we redirect the templates: 2351a5e196
