The team started out in 2012 as Barrow Jackson Robotics. After some time, the team split in 2014 and became FRC team 5132 (aka 'The Roboclovers'). Ever since, the team has been designing, programming, building, and succeeding.
First Robotics Competition is an international competition between schools from all around the world. FRC's goal is to create future leaders by tasking students with real life situations that they would find in a career. These situations include engineering, programming, financing, and most of all, team work!
FRC hosts a competition every year between schools in their districts. If a team does really good, they'll make it to the state competition where they'll compete with/against state level teams. If they make it past state level, they make it to worlds where they compete with/against world level teams.
Currently we are making defense robots for the Barrow County Police Department. Each robot is estimated to cost around $5,000 each to build. This is a big project for us and we are really happy to help our boys in blue!
