A critical analysis of the barred owl cull in America, exploring the avian-ecosystem connection and the flaws in state-sponsored removal programs.
In a country that prides itself on the provision of rights, is going on state and 'reason' sponsored killing of hundreds of thousands of barred owls.
The reason that the barred owls are invading territory and displacing other owl species is based on our perception of what is natural order. That perception is wholly wrong. Apart from several critical ramifications of eliminating a highly mobile sentient being that reflexively responds to terran configuration, killing the barred owls is being erroneously justified by endangerment.
The spotted owl, like the barred owl responds to vegetation induced fauna generated milieu. For a bird species (owls in general) that is so sensitive to ecosystemic changes, there is reason to consider the wing-span contingent flight pattern-terran modification dynamics. Larger owls (even just slightly larger) impact the ground level vegetation cover over lifespans. This is because even slightly larger owls cover more ground over their lifecycle. There is reason for this. Barred owls are generally less searching in their needs. This implies that the fauna induced micro-vegetation changes are larger. For forest cover, this means the difference between sunshade and barrenness. Such an effect is seen over several lifespan-generation cycles, and is the reason for habitation preferences. Human, especially American rationale does not even begin to understand ambience creation-modification by winged species.
Birds (all birds, including the barred owls) play a large part in generating habitation-suitable temperature and vapor profiles of localized regions. Birds innately sense the temperature and moisture of the regions they inhabit and through their activities, individual and population - wise, minutely change the flora-fauna-dynamics of animate- inanimate interactional pressure. Take crows for instance. Crows are found in areas that have a large organic-decomposition presence. Through their feeding, flight and habitation preferences, they modulate feeding chains so that micro air composition dynamics tend towards organismic habitation levels.
The barred owls could be altering organismic population as well as vegetation currencies to similarly modify ecosystemic parameters to restore native balance.
The setups that have decided to eliminate the barred owls are doing so in the complete absence of an understanding of avian presence mannerisms. This is a criminal act of massive proportions and should be stopped, and punished.
American 'authorities' and their supposedly "democratic " systems sit outside the natural order. They think they have the "science" and the calling to deem it fit to poison hundreds of thousands of barred owls because they have done "Research"!! None of the decision making personnel and setups understand one thing beyond what lies in their interests and " Concerns". To think that they can subject even one bird to a cruel death because they assume that they "Care" about one bird over the other indicates that they have taken it upon themselves to claim that they "know" what is going on. There is a difference between what we think we know and what is available to understand. "Their" science AND their ""Vote"" is doing what early settlers did to the Bison and native inhabitants. Only this time, it is justified, explained and ratified by people who are completely and will always remain blind to Bio-ecogenic mechanisms, simply because all they do is care about their own comfort.
