The most important questions for anyone looking at a boat are about yourself:

Who are you? What do you want to do on a boat?

Frankly, if you want to race your boat, if you want to join a yacht club full of white-hulled Swans and Hinkleys, or if you plan to sail to the Carribean Sea or to Hawaii, Barquinho is not for you. She's not made for open ocean, she doesn't sail well close to the wind, and she looks, well, different.

On the other hand, if you want to do The Great Loop, or explore the Inside Passage to Alaska, Barquinho can take you into tiny coves, remote corners, and sheltered waters. If you have thought about a motor home adventure, but want the flexibility of boating when you get to Lake Powell, she can give you both. If you want to live simply on a small boat in a cozy harbor, you would be happy on Barquinho. No boat can give you more flexibility and adventure for the money.

You might have noticed that no trailer is included in this offer. I sold the trailer I drove across the country some years ago, when I realized that we were happy staying on Puget Sound. If you want a trailer, you should look for a triple-axle trailer that can carry a 32' boat weighing around 10,000 pounds. I have spoken with the folks at Tuff Trailer nearby in Ferndale, Washington, and they told me it would cost about $8,000 to get a custom built trailer for Barquinho. That would be painted steel; aluminum or galvanized would be more. You would also need a big enough vehicle to pull all that, of course. I had a Ford 250 diesel, which handled her with no difficulties.

That means that Barquinho could be delivered anywhere in the US or Canada. We would obviously have details to work out, but where there's a will, we can find a way.

You also might have had trouble finding this website, because I am not selling Barquinho through a broker. The process shouldn't be a lot different, but it will save both of us money.

To be perfectly honest, Barquinho is not for the average boater. If you have read this far, you might be part of a small group of potential buyers, and should go to the CONTACT page to send me a message. I'll get back to you, and we can start a real conversation.
