Postdoctoral Fellow in AI for Coastal Applications
The postdoctoral scientist will work to conduct independent and collaborative research on AI methods and tools for understanding and predicting coastal hazards on subseasonal timescales with an emphasis on approaches for quantifying and understanding uncertainty. Research will focus both on AI for Science as well as the Science of AI.
Postdoctoral Fellow in AI for Near-Term Climate and Society
The postdoctoral scientist will work to conduct independent and collaborative research related to building and coupling AI simulations of the earth system with societal/health/economic models to understand potential near-term implications of various climate change and proposed climate intervention strategies. We are looking to fill multiple PhD positions to start in the 2026-2027 academic year to perform research on earth science + AI topics. If these topics are of interest consider applying. I have the potential to take students either through the Computing & Data Sciences (CDS) program or through the Department of Earth & Environment (E&E). Please choose the program that best suits your interests. Alternatively, if you are interested in the Masters track in either CDS or E&E, I would be happy to discuss the possibility of working in my group. (See also this page for E&E faculty seeking masters students). Applications are due Dec. 15, 2025 and you can apply here.
