About Us

Barnard Castle Youth Football Club is affiliated with Durham FA and is an England Football Accredited club.

We have been recognised by the County FA for offering a consistently high standard on and off the pitch, creating the ideal environments to nurture players, coaches and volunteers whilst delivering inclusive football for our local community.

We provide an essential community resource for children to play football for fun, competition, health and well-being.

We trace our roots back to the 1980s when the legendary Barnard Castle YMCA Tornadoes were established. Our club and teams are led by local volunteers and many former players now act as coaches or are relations of our current young players.

Our vision is to empower our local community to participate in, organize, and enjoy the beautiful game.

Join the team

Joining a club is perfect for those who want to play regular competitive football and enjoy training sessions too.

Players – If you are 8 to 18 years old and want to play football, then join our club to train with friends and play regular competitive football in local league and cup matches

 

Coaches – Do you love football and want to be part of helping kids maximise their potential and enjoy the game? Then get in contact! We provide all training, certification, equipment and support.

 

Referees – Become certified as an official FA referee and earn money for every game! We’ll provide support, funding and refereeing opportunities to help you on your journey.

 

Volunteers – We want to provide the best possible experience for our players and our community. If you can spare a little time to lend a hand then give us a call!
