About ECE at the University at Albany

We are located in the brand new downtown campus of UAlbany, in the Capital Region of NY State at the crossroads of large metropolitan areas in the Northeast. 

ECE is a part of the College of Nanotechnology, Science, and Engineering (CNSE) at UAlbany, and has a key role to play in the growth of the institute due to major research initiatives in the artificial intelligence and semiconductor industries. 

As a part of the AI research initiative of UAlbany, ECE students will have access to powerful computing resources and research opportunities. The capital region also offers great industrial opportunities, with IBM-Research at Albany and GE-Global Research Center in the area.  

As a part of CNSE, we are situated at the heart of the US semiconductor industry in the Northeast with the Albany NanoTech Complex in our college, and proximity to industrial facilities such as the IBM Research AI Hardware Center and the GlobalFoundries Manufacturing Center.
