THE POWER OF BELIEF
I’m a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), a Certified Nutrition Coach, and a Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Certified Running Coach—and more importantly, I’m someone who understands the power of fitness to transform lives.
I’ve been passionate about sports since high school, where I competed in long-distance running and shot put. After high school, I shifted my focus to weight lifting throughout my 20s while working in the security field. Later, I transitioned into the medical field, where the workload was demanding, but it got even worse during the pandemic. The high-stress environment, long hours, and constant pressure took a toll on my physical and mental health. Around this time, my son was born, and with new responsibilities came the realization that something had to change. The lack of work-life balance wasn’t sustainable, and I was eventually diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
That diagnosis was a wake-up call that forced me to reevaluate my lifestyle. I knew I needed a new mental and physical shift to create a life that I couldn’t wait to get out of bed to live. Rediscovering my love for running, combined with weight lifting, became the foundation of that transformation.
Running and weight lifting together have given me the strength to endure life’s challenges, both physically and mentally. These activities have boosted my confidence, energy, and motivation, allowing me to live a more fulfilled life. They’ve given me the vitality of being emotionally supportive for my son and the drive to be the best father I can be, ensuring I live a long, healthy life. Since then, I’ve completed half marathons, marathons, and ultra marathons. Through my dedication to running and healthy nutrition, I’ve been able to maintain A1C levels in the 5’s range—without the need for insulin or metformin.
