We live in a world which constantly bombards us with information, video and images. Also it forces us to make decisions on the spot: what subjects to study, what I’m going to do in the future and sometimes we are not given much time to reflect. This retreat gives you a perfect opportunity to reflect, to step back and look at the big picture, to see how far you have gone, and where you want to go...
A silent retreat is a very special place for a personal encounter with Jesus. It has been recommended by the Church for centuries. Leaving all distractions aside you will be able to have a deep and meaningful conversation with God and allow Him to transform your life. That’s why it doesn’t really matter if your friends come or not, you are there to spend time with Him.
What to expect?
Retreats usually start on Friday night at 7.30pm and finish on Sunday after lunch at 3:30pm, arriving back in Sydney around 5pm. We can provide transport from the centre to Bargo and once we arrive there we will have an introductory talk and meditation and then everyone will go to bed in silence so that everyone can start talking to God.
On Saturday we will have a few talks and meditations about the Faith and the life of our Lord, to help you reflect on your life and your relationship with God. Most importantly, there will be a lot of time for personal reflection where you can pray. There will also be Holy Mass and Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament every day. During meals we will be reading all together an interesting book about a saint or we will listen to a podcast. The priest and a layman will be available for spiritual direction only if you would like to talk and seek spiritual guidance.
