I am a double major in Biology and Neuroscience, along with a minor in Spanish. My love for animals drives my plan to attend veterinary school. My love for Biology comes from its ability to reveal how living organisms function, adapt, and interact, providing a profound sense of wonder and driving my passion for the field. In my free time I enjoy ceramics, spending time outdoors, gardening and volunteering at animal shelters. I'm extremely excited to dive into this research, delving into the fascinating realm of animal behavior and their intricate interactions. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to collaborate with this wonderful team, soaking up knowledge and experiences as we explore the wonders of the natural world from the lab perspective!
I am a biology major with intentions to also major in Sociology and Anthropology. I love biology because of the massive diversity of life forms and their evolutionary adaptations to their environment, including us humans. I am especially interested in invertebrates, particularly arthropods, and I wish to one day become an entomologist. In my free time, I tend to my entomological collection, enjoy playing music and drawing, and I am a big fan of outdoor camping. I am very excited to join the lab and learn biology hands-on!
I am a Biology major with a minor in Neuroscience. My passion for biology stems from being surrounded by animals for as long as I can remember. Biology allows me to further learn about their behavior, including how non-human animals navigate their environment, interact with different species, and their ability to adapt to change. I hope to one day work in wildlife conservation with a special interest in large carnivores and resolving human-wildlife conflicts. In my free time, I enjoy photography, horseback riding, and spending time outdoors. I am excited to join the lab and learn more about some of Earth’s smaller creatures!
I am a biology major and am also planning on minoring in chemistry. I was always driven towards science as I want to help contribute towards research and expanding the knowledge of myself and of humanity. Biology is my favored field as I am particularly fascinated by animals and evolution. I am especially interested in natural and sexual selection. I also enjoy math, music, and cats. I am so happy to have the opportunity to learn and work on this research. I look forward to working with this brilliant team!
Hi! I'm Luisa. I major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a minor in English and Creative Writing. I come from a farmer family, so I love spending time outdoors – gardening, farming, snorkeling, and hiking. I have been fascinated by biology since I was little; it often provides answers to most of my 'whats' and 'whys'. Biology – and science in general – has also helped improve our farm’s productivity by revealing the science behind farming. I’m also passionate about combining science with children's literature. In my free time, or whenever inspiration strikes, I write down ideas and drafts for future stories. Joining this lab is an exciting opportunity to expand my knowledge, and I’m eager to grow both personally and academically as part of this team.
I am currently majoring in Biology and Environmental Science with a minor in Studio Art, driven by a deep interest in how humans and nature interact. My academic journey has been shaped by the diversity and complexity of plants, fueling my passion to pursue research in the climate crisis and the evolution of plants.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading, playing guitar, and drawing, which keep me grounded and inspired. I'm excited to join this research team and contribute to exploring sexually selected traits. I look forward to learning new skills, engaging in meaningful collaboration, and uncovering new insights into evolution!
