If elected to Student Council, all members must agree to the following:

Follow and enforce the Student Council Constitution

Pay $25.00 dues (cash or check payable to B.H.S.) prior to the leadership lock-in

Attend the mandatory leadership lock-in

Meetings at least two to three times per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays before school - officers may need to meet more outside of set meetings)

Activities before school, after school, weekends, and some holidays

Some events will require a monetary contribution

Complete at least nine service project hours each semester for officers

Complete at least six service project hours each semester for senators

Maintain 3.0 GPA requirement for officers and 2.8 GPA requirement for senators

May only miss five meetings per semester

Medical absences and BHS conflicting activities (cleared ahead of time) do not count toward absences

Time management and organizational skills

Dedication to position and council

High moral and ethical caliber

Requirements to Run:

1. At least a 3.0 GPA at time of qualification for officers
2. At least a 2.8 GPA at time of qualification for senators
3. No dismissal from the previous year from student council if running for an office
4. Complete the online application before the Friday of campaign week
5. Have two Barbe High School teachers complete the online teacher recommendation form before the Friday of campaign week

Campaign week is September 3 - September 6

All campaign materials must be approved by the executive board by August 29.

Campaign materials may only be hung in the commons and the cafeteria.

All campaign rules listed in the constitution must be followed or the candidate can be disqualified.

Voting for officers Wednesday, September 4

• Students running for officer positions will automatically be placed on the senators’ ballot if they are not selected for officer positions
• Students are placed on the ballots in the order in which their sign-up forms were received

• Results will be posted on the door of Mrs. Savoie’s classroom L110:
• Results for officers will be posted before school at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 5
• Results for senators will be posted before school at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, September 9
