Can parents come into the room for photos?
No, only staff members will be allowed in the room during the photo sessions. We ask parents to stay downstairs. Parents are welcome to wait in the designated area downstairs until their dancer's session is complete.
What happens if my dancer is late for their photo session?
It’s important to arrive on time so that we stay on schedule. If your dancer arrives late, they may miss their photo session since we must keep on schedule so we cannot wait for dancers to arrive.
What happens if my dancer is sick or unable to attend Picture Day?

For the safety and comfort of all the dancers, we ask that parents refrain from taking photos or videos during the performance. Professional photos will be available after the recital. You are welcome to take photos and videos during the Wednesday dress rehearsal.
Where can we pick up our dancer after their routine?
Dancers will be released to their parents at the backstage check-in once their routine is complete. Dancers under 12 years old will not be allowed to leave backstage without a parent or guardian present. When dropping off your dancer, you must inform backstage staff of who will be picking them up. Dancers will not be released to any individual the staff is not familiar with unless prior communication has been made by the parent or guardian.
Can I bring my child’s siblings to the recital?
Yes, siblings are welcome, but anyone two years of age and older must have a ticket to attend. Please ensure they are seated with you during the performance to avoid distractions. If they become disruptive, please take them to the lobby so they can calm down and the audience is not inconvenienced.
Will there be a place for parents to wait during the recital?
Yes, parents can wait in the lobby or in the downstairs waiting space where tables are provided. Please note that there will be no access to the backstage area during the performance.
How can my dancer participate in the Shim Sham routine?
Dancers must be enrolled in a tap class that has learned the Shim Sham during the year in order to participate in the routine.
Can we give our dancer flowers or gifts after the recital?
Yes! After the recital, flowers and small gifts are a great way to celebrate your dancer’s hard work. We will have a designated area where you can give your dancer their flowers or gifts.
Are there other courtesy rules for the recital?
Yes! Please only get up and down from seats during breaks in between routines. Do NOT stand up in the middle of dances as it disturbs our audience and the professional video being recorded. Please clap and cheer loudly for all of our dancers! If you have a young child who gets upset during the show, please remove them from the auditorium to give them a break and allow our other audience members to enjoy the performances.
Dancers are asked to not wear their dance costumes into the auditorium before or during the show. We ask that they wear a bathrobe or recital shirt over it.
Finally, if possible, stay through the entire show. Our oldest dancers have worked hard all year on their routines and deserve to have a full audience to perform to as well as our youngest dancers at the beginning of the show.
