This Privacy Policy explains how Baptism — Reading Companion handles information in the current version of the mobile application and related website features.

This policy applies to the Baptism mobile application and its reading, recorded-narration, offline-audio, bookmarks, reading-progress, settings, support, donation, contact, sharing, and privacy-policy features.
This policy does not govern third-party services that users choose to open from the app or website, including PayPal, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, WhatsApp, Gmail or another email provider, telephone carriers, Google Play, the device operating system, or the service that hosts recorded narration. Those services operate under their own privacy policies and terms.
The app does not require an account or sign-in. The main reading experience is designed to work without sending a user’s reading history to the publisher.
Reading progress and reader preferences are stored locally on the user’s device. The app may make ordinary technical requests when it streams or downloads recorded narration or when a user opens an external service.
The current version does not intentionally enable:
•Advertising or an advertising identifier
•Behavioural analytics or profiling
•Marketing or promotional notifications
•Microphone recording
•Camera access
•Precise location collection
•Contacts or address-book collection
•Account registration
•Cloud synchronisation of reading progress
•In-app collection of payment-card details
Local app data may include:
•Current and last-read chapter
•Reading progress
•Completed-chapter status
•Saved reading positions
•Bookmarks
•Reader preferences
•Narration speed
•Selected device text-to-speech voice name, where available
•Recorded narration files that the user voluntarily downloads for offline listening
This local information is used to resume reading, display progress, restore preferences, show bookmarks, control narration, and provide offline playback.
The current app does not intentionally transmit this reading state to the publisher, advertisers, data brokers, or social networks. Local data remains on the device until the user changes or resets it, clears the app’s storage, clears downloaded audio, or uninstalls the app.
The app provides recorded narration for the book’s chapters. When narration is streamed or downloaded, the app requests audio files from a managed content-hosting or content-delivery service.
That service may receive ordinary technical request information needed to deliver, secure, troubleshoot, measure, or maintain the content service, such as:
•IP address
•Request time
•Device or browser information
•Network information
•Requested audio file or URL
We do not use narration requests to create a personal reading profile. Downloaded narration remains in the app’s local cache or app storage until the user clears downloaded audio, clears app data, or uninstalls the app. The app provides a Clear downloaded audio action.
The app may use the device’s text-to-speech capability as a reading aid or fallback. When selected, text is passed to the operating system or speech service used by the device so that it can produce speech. Processing by that provider is governed by the provider’s own settings and privacy policy.
Recorded narration may continue through supported background-audio and lock-screen playback features. These features play audio and may show playback controls or chapter metadata. They do not collect location, microphone recordings, contacts, or unrelated device activity.
The app provides optional actions that may open telephone calling, WhatsApp, email, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, or the app’s public share link.
The app may also provide:

When a user taps one of these actions, the app may open the relevant external application or website, start the device share sheet, or place selected text on the device clipboard.
The app does not read the clipboard in the current version. The app does not upload the user’s contacts or address book to create or send a recipient list. Information sent to an external service is handled by that service under its own policy.
The app includes one voluntary donation action. It displays a PayPal Hosted Button with hosted button identifier JMQAH2RNYA4EA inside a PayPal-hosted payment experience.
The app does not collect or store payment-card numbers, bank-account numbers, PayPal passwords, or full donor payment details.
If a user chooses to donate, PayPal may process information needed for the donation and transaction protection, such as:
•Name
•Email address
•Billing or payment details
•Transaction information
•Device or network information
•Fraud-prevention information
•Tax or compliance information
PayPal’s privacy policy and terms apply to information processed by PayPal. Donations are optional and are not required to read the book, listen to narration, or use any reading feature.
Advertising is not enabled in the current version. The current app does not intentionally request, display, personalise, or measure advertisements.
Analytics, behavioural profiling, and marketing or promotional notifications are also not enabled as app features. If a future release adds advertising, analytics, profiling, or marketing notifications, this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data safety declaration will be updated before that release is distributed.
The current app does not require account creation or sign-in. It does not intentionally collect account profile information through the reading experience and does not provide cloud synchronisation of reading progress.
If a future release enables accounts, authentication, cloud synchronisation, analytics, notifications, recording, or another server-side feature, this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data safety declaration will be updated before distribution.
The current reading experience does not request or use microphone permission for recording. It does not request notification permission. It does not request access to the camera, contacts, photos, precise location, health information, SMS, call logs, or the inventory of other apps.
The app does not intentionally collect through its reading features:

•Photos
•Precise location
•Health information
•Voice recordings
•Payment-card numbers
•Authentication credentials
•Private messages
A user may voluntarily provide information directly to an external service after choosing to open that service.
We do not sell personal information.
We do not share locally stored reading progress or bookmarks with advertisers or data brokers. Information may be handled by service providers when necessary to operate the app, including content hosting and delivery, payment processing selected by the user, security, technical infrastructure, or legal compliance.
We may disclose information when required by law or valid legal process, when reasonably necessary to prevent fraud or security abuse, to protect users or the public, to protect our rights, or as part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of the service.
Local reading state remains on the device until the user changes or resets it, clears the app’s storage, or uninstalls the app. The app provides a reading-progress reset control. Downloaded narration can be removed with the Clear downloaded audio action.
Because the current app does not require an account or maintain a cloud reading profile, there is no Baptism account to delete.
Information submitted directly to PayPal, a social network, an email provider, WhatsApp, Google Play, a telephone carrier, or another external service is managed according to that provider’s policies and tools.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information handled by the current app. Local reading data is stored using the device’s app-local storage mechanisms.
Requests to managed content services and external payment or web services should use encrypted HTTPS connections where supported. No storage system or transmission method is completely secure.
The app is a general Christian reading companion and is not designed to collect personal information from children. The current reading features do not require an account and do not knowingly collect children’s names, contact details, precise location, or other personal information.
Parents or guardians who believe that a child has provided personal information to us may contact apostlemarvellous09@gmail.com.
Content hosting, PayPal, app stores, operating-system services, social networks, communication providers, and other services selected by the user may process information in countries other than the user’s country under their own policies and applicable law.
The app may contain third-party libraries needed for navigation, audio playback, storage, WebView rendering, sharing, clipboard access, and the user interface. We do not intentionally include an analytics or advertising SDK in the current version.
We may update this policy when the app’s features, service providers, permissions, advertising, analytics, donation flow, account functionality, or data practices change.
When we update this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Where appropriate, we may also provide notice in the app.
The version published on this website and the version shown inside the app should be treated as the current versions.
