Dr. Nefdt-Gonzalez is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who received her Ph.D. in Special Education, Disabilities and Risk Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. There she worked in the Koegel Autism Center under the supervision of Drs. Robert and Lynn Koegel, founders of Pivotal Response Treatment. She has worked in the field of applied behavior analysis for over twenty years helping children of varied disabilities.
She has taught at the University level for both Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis and has provided consultation for families, districts and clinical teams all over the world.
Dr. Nefdt-Gonzalez conducted her dissertation research on teaching parents at a distance to implement basic Pivotal Response Treatment strategies. She believes strongly in the ability of all parents to make a difference in their child's life and that all families worldwide should have access to effective, evidence based interventions for children with ASD.
She is also homeschooling mother of three and has a passion for supporting parents in their decision to homeschool a child with special needs.
