COMMON FLORA

Common mangrove taxa found in the area are Rhizophora mucronata, R. apiculate, R. stylosa, Aiecennia marina, Sonneratia alba, S. caseolaries (a rarely seen species), Xylocarpus granatum, Exoecaria agallocha, Nipa fruticans, Bruguiera gymnorhiza and Lumnitzera racemosa. Some beach types species are also present in the area such as Pongamia pinnata and Terminalia cattapa interspersed with Achrosticum fern. 

COMMON FAUNA

A diverse array of fauna thrives within its ecosystem, prominently featuring shrimp and crab populations. The surrounding waters teem with these crustaceans, serving as vital components of the local aquatic biodiversity. ANALYSIS

OVERVIEW

Macabebe Beach in Consuelo, Pampanga is part of the Consuelo Ecopark, a popular biking destination with stunning views of the sunset and Mt. Mariveles. The area is a haven for migratory birds and a major producer of shrimps and crabs. However, the water is not safe for swimming due to ongoing analysis for fecal coliforms. Visitors can enjoy cottages and a sari-sari store for refreshments.

DEMOGRAPHICS

Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 2,669. This represented 3.42% of the total population of Macabebe. The household population of Consuelo in the 2015 Census was 2,710 broken down into 632 households or an average of 4.29 members per household.

The site is commonly utilized for fishponds and mangrove plantations.
