Bang On The Ear, otherwise known as BOTE, have entertained crowds since the band's formation in 2006. Formed in 2006 by husband and wife Bradley & Michelle McMillan the band have created a sound all their own while retaining the sounds of traditional Scottish / Irish music and that Glengarry County sound that has remained a staple in the Glengarry County community for 50+ years. Hailing from Glengarry County, Ontario (Ontario's Celtic Heartland) the home of the annual Glengarry Highland Games and the site for the North American Pipe bag Championships, Glengarry is rich in Celtic heritage, and the perseverance of this culture is the focal point of the band. A majority of the groups original compositions focus on the traditions of Glengarry County and the stories that make Glengarry County so popular. The group has released 6 studio albums since 2006 and have garnered over 500000 streams on various streaming platforms. They have collectively written more than 60 original songs, which are featured throughout the band's discography. The band is currently signed to 2914 Records, having moved over from Minnesota, USA based New Folk Records in 2018. Having Performed More than 800 Live shows, they have played up and down Canada's East Coast including Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. The group has been privileged to have performed at several of the country's top drawing festivals and Entertainment events including The Glengarry Highland Games, Hard Rock Casino,The Cobourg Highland Games, The Northumberland Highland Games, The Prince Edward Island Shellfish Festival, New Brunswick's Casley's Park Summer concert series, Canada's Irish Festival (Miramichi, New Brunswick) , The Almonte Celtic Festival & The World Education Festival and more.
Their upbeat kitchen party style of Celtic Folk Rock keep patrons singing and dancing all night long. They have been fortunate enough to have performed alongside, The Briadoons, Hadrians Wall, The Mahones, Jimmy Rankin, Signal Hill, Ashley MacIssac, Joey Kitson (Rawlins Cross), The Trews, Amanda Marshall, Finger 11 and more. Their live show is one that must be seen in person as the bands love of traditional Celtic music and their love of Glengarry County shine brightly every time the band takes the stage. 2026 marks 20 years for the band and In June saw the band release their brand new studio record "Highland Road" to rave reviews.
