My name is Lamisa Hassan, and I’m a high school student from the Bronx. I began tutoring elementary school students in my community in the 7th grade. Two years ago, I began donating the earnings to the Hajji Yeasin Ali Foundation, an organization helping families in Bangladesh. In my first summer alone, I raised $500. BTI has become a way for me to stay connected to my background while supporting students both here in the Bronx and abroad. I hope to continue growing this project and creating accessible learning opportunities for many students.
