Bangkok City Library Rules and Regulations

1. Dress appropriately.

2. Use polite language, do not make loud noises or disturb others and no indecent acts or inappropriate behavior.

3. Do not engage in any behavior that disturbs other library users.

4. Bags less than 45 centimeters wide are permitted in the area.

5. Allow security officers to search all types of your bags and personal items when entering and leaving the Library.

6. Water and beverages in securely sealed containers are permitted in the library.

7. Do not bring snack and food in the Library

8. Do not bring any cameras or video recording devices into the library, except for mobile phones

9. Do not take photographs, record videos, or film programs, plays, movies, television shows, or other commercial activities, unless permission has been granted and the required venue fee has been paid to Culture, Sports and Tourism Department.

10. Do not leave personal belongings or valuables unattended. Bangkok City Library shall not be held responsible for any loss or damage to such property.

11. Do not write on, cut, tear, damage, or remove any information resources or property of Bangkok City Library from the premises without permission.

12. Do not engage in any form of gambling on the premises.

13. Do not bring pets into the Library.

14. Do not smoke in the Library

For any matters not covered by these regulations, the decision of the library staff shall be final.

Membership Registration Process

1.Complete the membership registration form at the service counter.

2.Present one of the following documents as proof of identity:

•National ID card

•House registration document

•Government-issued card bearing your National ID number

3.Pay the annual membership fee and receive your library membership card.

2.Register your personal information Use your National ID card to verify your identity.

3.Select your preferred sports or recreation center of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) Once registered, you can use the app to make reservations at any BMA sports or recreation center.

4.Pay the applicable service fee via the available e-Payment channels at the prescribed rate.

5.After completing registration through the app, bring your original National ID card and contact the staff at the selected service center to scan and verify your identity in the system.

Age is calculated based on the calendar year in which the person was born.

Foreign Nationals

1.Complete the membership registration form at the service counter.

2.Present your passport, along with one of the following documents:

a.A work permit valid for more than 3 months in Thailand or

b.A student ID card or

c.Proof of enrollment or education in Thailand.

Membership fees are subject to the regulations of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration on maintenance fees and expenses for Sports and Music Service Centers under Culture, Sports and Tourism Department, B.E. 2563 (2020).

Membership Benefits

1. Can borrow up to 2 books per day (Late return fee is 2 Baht / day / item with an additional 50 Baht fee for items returned more than 30 days overdue.)

2. Wi-Fi access is available for up to 4 hours per day.

3. Use of Library computers 4 hours per day.

4. The Group Research Room is available for groups of at least 6 people, for up to 4 consecutive hours per day and no more than 4 times per month.
