Chemical fertilizers are the most commonly used and commercialized fertilizers. Chemical fertilizers are fertilizers that have been processed into granules, powders and liquids. Granules type of chemical fertilizers can be used directly spread on the soil while powder and liquid type of fertilizers need to be mixed with water before spraying on the plants. There are various types of chemical fertilizers on the market that are produced in the country as well as imported. Among the chemical fertilizers that we often hear and used are urea, CIRP, Nitrophoska, Byfolan, Welgrow and many more. In general, granule chemical fertilizers are divided into two, namely compound fertilizer and single dressing fertilizer. Compound fertilizers are fertilizers that have been completely processed with various essential elements such as NPK 15:15:15 or NPK 12: 12: 17+2 TE or other formulations. Single dressing fertilizer is a fertilizer that has only one type of element. The common granules type of fertilizers used are urea (N), TSP- Triple Super Phosphate (P205), MOP- Muriate of potassium (K2O). Usually plantation operators or commercial farmers choose the type of fertilizer according to the suitability of crop type, soil type, tree age, fertilization effectiveness and cost.
