Bamber Bridge in Bloom is aiming to make Bamber Bridge a more attractive place for residents and visitors. We aim to build and strengthen community pride, action, inclusion, and cohesion across the local community.
We aim to work with the local community, local community groups, local schools, and local councils to encourage their active role in caring for their community and environment to reduce anti-social behaviours such as littering, graffiti, fly posting, fly tipping, and vandalism.
April 2026: Work started on re-planting the Hob Planter
March 2026: Work started on re-planting McNamara Gardens
February 2026: The first public meeting was hosted by Progress Housing and the Committee laid out the plans for 2026 an beyond.
September 2025: The first committee of volunteers met at the Hob Inn on Monday 8th September 2025 to adopt the Constitution and plan the future of the group.
June 2025: The idea for Bamber Bridge in Bloom was born out of the efforts of Brig's Litter Team, Bamber Bridge Men's Shed, and Guardians of Brownedge Pond to rejuvenate a big planter near the Hob Inn (the planter is known as either The Big Brig Planter or The Hob Planter) in advance of the Battle of Bamber Bridge. The volunteers met in the Hob Inn afterwards and chatted about how nice it would be if they could do more planters throughout Brig. And so the idea of Bamber Bridge in Bloom was born!
The Committe is limited by the Constitution to ten members and currently comprises:

Vice Chair: tbc
