Your travel to BAM! In Germany is covered by Erasmus+ up to a certain amount
What can I get a refund for?
You should use the cheapest and easiest way of transportation to reach your destination. You can get arefund for your flight tickets (incl. 1 large cabin bag), train tickets, boat tickets, bus tickets that are getting you to Bonn.
We will also refund your ticket if you choose to come a few days before or leave a few days after the Event.
We prefer that you travel to and from home when joining BAM!, but we do allow exceptions, so please contact us if this is your case.
What You can't get refund for:
extra insurances or other add-ons when buying your flight
first-class tickets
city passes and/or bus/train tickets that are not strictly related to the transportation to and from BAM! (e.g. tickets for sightseeing or visiting a friend before/after the activity)

If you have any questions about this, please contact anne.reck@afs.de
How do I ask for a travel refund?

tickets and boarding passes (if you are flying).
Once you arrive home, we will ask you to send us all the receipts and boarding passes that you have usedand we will calculate the refund amount.
We will transfer the travel refund to your AFS organisation through Finance Module when we have all thetickets and boarding passes.
If you are traveling by car, please contact us, so that we can send you a separate form to fill in.
Evaluation report
Once you arrive home, the EU system will automatically send you a mandatory evaluation report. Thisform is short, but very important for the administration of the project as proof that you actually participated at the Event.
For German participants
You will get a full refund for your travel and you will ask for it as you normally do. However, we ask you to upload your tickets via afser.de.
For Participants outside of the ERASMUS+ Funding (Switzerland etc.)
We are really happy to host you and can give you the accommodation and meals for free, but unfortunately cannot refund your travels.
How much do I receive for my trip?
You can calculate how much you get reimbursed in the EU distance calculator Starting point: use the city where you live
End point: Bonn
The amount that you see in the table below is the maximum amount that you can receive for a Ticket, based on the km distance shown in the EU distance calculator.
Be aware that this amount should cover your travel from door to door (ie. all means of transport necessaryfor you to use, fx a bus to the airport and a flight to Bonn).
In case your travel is more expensive than the amount given, we will refund you with the maximum travelbudget for your distance.
Green travel is travel that uses low-emissions means of transport for the main part of the travel, such as bus, train, bike or car-pooling.
