PATRICK O'BRIEN

Currently based in Hertfordshire, England. 

Educated at the Boys' National School in Ballyporeen where Patrick mastered the names of all eleven Irish irregular verbs. Inherited a huge love of place and tradition from his grandmother Mary Sisk and mother Marie (both sadly no longer with us).

Authored two books on Ballyporeen history; 'In Times Gone By' (2013) and 'Hear the Ghosts Whisper' (2021). Contributed to the Avondhu Press newspaper.  Editor of the 'Ballyporeen History Blog' and 'Ballyporeen Fádo' Facebook page.

Likes: Trains, cycling, pale ales, Seamus Heaney, Brandon Flowers.

Dislikes: S**t London Guinness, e-scooters, double denim, plastic flowers.
