Copperflame Games built Ball Fall - Idle Tower Defense as a free, ad-supported game. Copperflame Games is operated by Krzysztof Chaciński, who is responsible for the personal data described in this policy (the "data controller").
This page explains what information is collected when you play, why, who receives it, and the choices and rights you have. Where your consent is required, information is only collected after you give it. Simply using the game is not treated as consent.
Your game progress and settings are saved in a file on your device. This file isn't sent to me.
If you're signed in to Google Play Games, your progress is also saved to your Google account so you can continue on another device. Together with your progress, the save contains some technical information:
your Google Play Games player ID
device model, system language and platform
a one-way scrambled (hashed) device identifier
total play time and save counters
This is stored by Google in the Play Games area of your Google account; I don't run my own servers.
I use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how players progress, so I can find the parts of the game that are too hard, too slow or unbalanced.
If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics runs only if you agree to it in the consent form shown when you first start the game. If you don't agree, nothing is sent. Elsewhere, analytics runs by default.
When analytics is active, the following is collected:
Game events:
levels reached and how long they took
prestiges
tutorial and task progress
moments when progress stalls
which towers and elements you use and how much damage they deal
first use of game features
whether rewarded ads and purchases succeeded or failed (never payment details)
Error information: if a save file can't be loaded, a short technical report is sent. It says which file failed, the type of error, the file sizes and the app version.
Collected automatically by Firebase:
an app-instance identifier
device model, operating system and version
app version and language
approximate location (country and region, which Google derives from your IP address and doesn't keep for analytics)
session and engagement information
Advertising ID: only where you have allowed advertising-related data use.
I don't collect your name, email address, contacts or precise location through analytics, and I don't use analytics to identify you personally.
The game offers optional rewarded ads, provided by Google AdMob. To show ads, limit how often you see them, prevent fraud and measure ad performance, AdMob may collect:
your device's advertising ID
your IP address
device information
In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form lets you choose whether information can be stored on your device and whether ads can be personalised. In US states with privacy laws, you can opt out of your personal information being sold or shared for targeted advertising.
If you buy Remove Ads IAP, rewards are granted without watching ads.
Google uses this data as an independent controller. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
In-app purchases are processed by Google Play. I never receive your payment details, only confirmation that a purchase was completed so it can be unlocked.
If you have allowed your Android device to share usage and diagnostics data with Google, Google Play may provide me with anonymous crash and performance reports (Android vitals).
If you email me, I use your email address and message only to reply, and delete them when they're no longer needed.
The game doesn't use browser cookies. It and the services above do store information on your device and read identifiers from it:
the game's save file and settings
the analytics app-instance identifier
your consent choices
the advertising ID
In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, anything beyond what the game needs in order to work is used only with your consent.
Consent: gameplay analytics, and storing or accessing information on your device for advertising and ad personalisation.
Providing the game you asked for: cloud saves and purchases.
Legitimate interests: answering your emails, and keeping the game working and secure.
Outside these regions, analytics relies on my legitimate interest in improving the game.
Change or withdraw consent at any time: in the game, go to Options → [Privacy & Consent] to reopen the consent form. Withdrawing consent stops analytics and ad personalisation from that moment on. It doesn't affect data sent before you withdrew.
Advertising ID: on Android, you can reset or delete it in Settings → Google → Ads.
Stop all collection: uninstall the game. This also resets the analytics app-instance identifier.
Cloud save data: you can delete it from your Google account in the Google Play Games settings.
The game uses these third-party services, which receive data as described above:
Google Play Services, Google Play Games and Google Play Billing: Google Privacy Policy
Google Analytics for Firebase: Privacy and Security in Firebase
Google AdMob: Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from apps
They may only use the data to provide their services, or as described in their own privacy policies. I don't sell your personal data.
Google may process data outside your country, including in the United States. For data from the EEA, UK and Switzerland, these transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions) and the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Analytics data: kept by Google Analytics for 14 months, then deleted automatically.
Cloud saves: until you delete them from your Google account.
Emails: as long as needed to answer you.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
access the personal data held about you
correct it
delete it
restrict or object to its processing
receive a copy of it (data portability)
withdraw consent at any time
To use your rights, email copperflame.games@gmail.com. Analytics data is pseudonymous: it's tied to an app-instance identifier, not your name, so I may be unable to match it to you. Withdrawing consent in the game or uninstalling it stops further collection.
US state residents: the game collects the categories of information described above. I don't sell personal information for money. Advertising through AdMob may count as "sharing" for targeted advertising under some state laws.
Data sent by the Google services above is encrypted in transit. Your save file stays on your device unless it is synced to your own Google account. I take reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and I can't guarantee absolute security.
The game contains links to other sites, such as the game's Discord community and its Google Play store page. Those sites aren't operated by me, and I'm not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please review their privacy policies.
The game isn't directed at children under 13. I don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact me. I'll delete what I can and help you remove the rest from the services above.
I may update this policy when the game's data practices change. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date. If a change needs your consent, you'll be asked in the game.
