Marean (1999) is a young multimedia romanian artist, most of his work revolves around themes that range from the internet culture to the various dimensions of violence, neglect and decay. The nature of his artistic labor presents itself through a raw, unthoughtful and somewhat experimental approach, the statement being made with bold imagery. He likes to talk about himself in the 3rd person

efforts to create an inquiry into diasporic and migration struggles of belonging and longing that makes use of poetics and is protective of the fragilities and sensitivities of such struggles, rather than polemic and resolute.
Pansy is a multimedia artist from Iasi, Romania. Interested in the visual aesthetics of Romania in the 2000s, Pansy refuses. both the enrollment in classic categories of visual art and the assumption of a transparent artistic discourse. By assuming a deliberately opaque artistic positioning, Pansy preferred the discourse of the artist communicated through her works; Pansy is investigating the possibilities of her chosen medium and she is always central to her practice and, by merging the grand themes of historical painting with contemporary forms, Pansy's works are not solely about their specific subject matter, but the act of painting itself. Drawing upon diverse sources, the artist reconfigures personal memories, art historical references, film stills and visual media culled from the internet in the imagery of her work.
As a second-generation immigrant, my work explores the complexities of having a bi-cultural identity and how popular culture influences our memories and sense of belonging. I use visual communication and popular culture to offer a new way of understanding and appreciating culture, fostering a sense of togetherness and belonging.
My personal history plays a central role in my work as I develop narratives both from memories and observation, deeply rooted in the culture and aesthetics of Romania during and after the communist regime.
I'm Dayana Ivanova, born and raised in Bulgaria. A young academic researcher with a background in Arts, Humanities, and Area Studies and a focus on the region of Asia. I’ve been into photography for 14 years already, which I'm trying to combine with my current interests in visual anthropology and archival work. I believe that everyone carries stories and experiences that are worth sharing but at the same time I often look for the hidden, weird aspects of the ordinary. Street photography is my preferred genre, so I'm still exploring where it might lead me to.
i work with themes of migrant identity, personal experience, memory, and predominantly, the eastern european masculine; exploring the aftermaths of a ’90s / ’00s childhood in (mainly) urban romania
while my works can be considered eclectic in both style and techniques used, i primarily focus on film, performance, and software art
right now i am focusing on sounds, visuals, and imagery of eastern european traditions and the local music genre of turbo-folk, with a focus on the romanian version; otherwise known as manele
along with that, i am part of apartament 6, an artist collective whose focus is on creating critical and reflective art regarding the current living conditions of young emerging artists from romania
inspired by the imagery and tradition of living room exhibitions done by subversive artists of the communist times, we aim to better understand the artistic, political and social potential of the personal living space – the apartment (ro: apartament)

The Slavic Tales is a project founded by Kalina Ivanova and Anna Ivanova - an artistic collective of two that started its collaborative journey in Falmouth University, UK. We were initially working on separate university projects that both focused on aspects of our cultural identity as Bulgarians in the context of the West. Throughout her BA Illustration, Kalina explored her roots through illustrative works that revisited classic cultural references from movies and everyday life, reminiscent of Soviet Bulgaria. Retaining the retro aspect, she transformed and modernized the visuals through her signature groovy colors and shapes. Following that interest in the recent past of her country, Kalina proceeded to write her dissertation “The cultural transition of Bulgarian identity”where she further explored the connections between art, popular culture and politics and their mark on the country’s contemporary identity. Simultaneously, in her BA Drawing projects Anna was looking at the objective and subjective perception of Post-Soviet landscapes through collages, incorporating drawing, writing and photography. Focused on the visible marks that the totalitarian regime had on the Eastern European urban scene, she was exploring the effects of growing up in such surroundings and how that integrates in one’s cultural identity.
