Google One is a subscription plan that gives you more storage to use across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos. Plus, with Google One, you get extra benefits and can share your membership with your family.

The amount of storage for each user depends on your Google Workspace edition. Most Google Workspace editions have pooled storage. Pooled storage is indicated in the following tables as total storage or a storage amount times the number of End User licenses.

With features like Object Lifecycle Management (OLM) and Autoclass you can easily optimize costs with object placement across storage classes. You can enable, at the bucket level, policy-based automatic object movement to colder storage classes based on the last access time. There are no early deletion or retrieval fees, nor class transition charges for object access in colder storage classes.

Inventory reports contain metadata information about your objects, such as the object's storage class, ETag, and content type. This information helps you analyze your storage costs, audit and validate your objects, and ensure data security and compliance. You can export inventory reports as comma-separated value (CSV) or Apache Parquet files so you can further analyze it using tools such as BigQuery. So a client asked me to upload files to their Google Drive. They have 1TB drive storage and I have a shared drive with them.

I begun adding the files, and all of the sudden my Google Drive said max storage reached 15GB/15GB.

On my account page, there is no "cancel plan" button. Here is a screenshot of what that page (which their support page link brings me to) looks like. No "cancel plan" button, it seems all they want me to do is pay more for even more storage. No option for cancellation anywhere on the page they claim you can cancel on.

Edit: Of course I just figured it out. You have to go to "one.google.com" and open your settings (gear icon) and click "cancel membership," which takes you to a google play page, you have to click "manage" next to the storage plan auto-renewal, then you can cancel. Jeez, of course they don't make it as easy as purchasing a plan. Case closed, thanks to anyone who was about to answer, and I hope this helps anyone else who runs into this frustrating issue as well.

To check the total disk space left on your Windows 11 device, select File Explorer  from the taskbar, and then select This PC on the left. The available space on your drive will appear under Devices and drives.

Storage Sense can automatically free up drive space for you by getting rid of items that you don't need, like temporary files and items in your Recycle Bin. For more info, see Manage drive space with Storage Sense.

To move photos, music, videos, or other files that you want to keep but don't use very often, consider saving them to an external storage device like a USB drive or an SD card. You'll still be able to use them when the drive is connected, but they won't take up space on your PC.

You can save space by turning on OneDrive Files On-Demand, which stores a smaller placeholder file on your hard drive instead of the full-size file that's stored in your OneDrive account in the cloud. You'll be able to get to your OneDrive files from your PC without having to use up hard-drive space downloading full-size versions of them all. See Save disk space with OneDrive Files On-Demand for Windows for more info.

Sometimes a virus or other malware can consume significant hard-drive space by corrupting your system files. If you suspect your PC is infected with malware, use an antivirus program like Windows Security to run a virus scan and cleanup. If this doesn't fix the problem, you might need to reset your PC.

Driver updates. OEMs and other hardware partners sometimes publish new graphics, networking, audio, and other drivers in conjunction with the new OS update. The size of these drivers can vary significantly, depending on your PC and on which drivers have been updated.

When considering what storage hardware to use in your device, don't look only at the hardware's storage capacity. Often, the speed of the storage is more important than its size. Devices with slow storage hardware, such as those labeled "HDD" are typically slower to use than those using faster storage hardware, such as those labeled "SSD" or "eMMC."

To check the total disk space left on your Windows 10 device, select File Explorer  from the taskbar, and then select This PC on the left. The available space on your drive will appear under Devices and drives.

To free up even more space, select Clean up system files, select a drive, select OK. When the system has done its calculations, select the type of system files you want to delete. Disk Cleanup will take a few moments to calculate the amount of space that can be freed up.

You can also compress your OS drive (the drive on which Windows is installed), helping you gain extra space to install important updates. This action does not delete the contents of this drive, and you shouldn't experience problems opening and saving files from the compressed drive.

If you want to compress the OS drive, select File Explorer from the taskbar, and in the left pane, select This PC. Right-click or tap and hold the OS drive (usually disk C), and then select Properties, and in the General tab, select Compress this drive to save disk space. Select Apply > OK. After you install the update, you can manually decompress the OS drive at any time by clearing the Compress this drive to save disk space check box, and then selecting Apply > OK.

To check the total disk space left on your Windows 10 device, select File Explorer  from the taskbar, and then select This PC on the left. The available space for each drive will appear under the Devices and drives section.

I know from reading other articles in other places that a particular system can only access a certain amount of disk storage based on things like the way the firmware is written, the amount of memory installed, etc. etc. etc.

I had a Gen-1 HP Media Vault NAS device that would support a maximum of 1.2T of drive space as a combined total of the internal drive as shipped, any drive installed in the internal expansion bay, and anything connected via the USB connector. This was explained as a limitation of the device itself due to, (I believe), internal memory constraints.

While storage devices usually have their size expressed in powers of 10 (for instance a 1 TB Solid State Drive will contain at least 1,000,000,000,000 (1012, 10004) bytes), filesystem limits are invariably powers of 2, so usually expressed with IEC prefixes. For instance, a 1 TiB limit means 240, 10244 bytes. Approximations (rounding down) using power of 10 are also given below to remove confusions.

The single bay MyClouds are not really meant to be taken apart, which is the only way to switch out the drive inside (a not straight forward process), which means you are limited to the size of disk WD ships inside unless you feel like voiding the warranty. However, the max size of the external USB disk is controlled by the above information.

It sounds like what you are REALLY asking, is what is the maximum RECOMMENDED size. We can derive that based on the amount of system ram installed in the system, against the max recommended sizes of other offers. It looks like WD is subtly suggesting that one have at least 125mb of ram for each GB of storage, if you work out the numbers given on their product comparison chart.

jharris1993: The issue with XP wrapping its filesystem was due to LBA. When it shipped, XP only supported 28bit LBA. There were disks that needed 48bit LBA to address the full drive. The lba register would overflow in the windows driver when trying to access these disks, unless you set a registry hack, and installed an updated atapi.sys. (Needs SP1 installed) In addition, there is a limit imposed by the old partition scheme, MBR-- which could only use 32bit LBAs. This limits the size of a disk to 2TB. (or 137GB, with the atapi issue.) ff782bc1db
