Home of the Bali Chillis rugby Team and the Bali 10's
The purpose of the Bali Rugby Club is to promote rugby throughout the Island by participation in friendly competition. All players of any level of experience are encouraged to contact the club if they are interested in playing and the club welcomes all visiting teams to Bali to contact BRC. BACKGROUND Rugby & Bali are two words that you would not usually find in the same sentence, but little do people know, Rugby has been played here on the Island of the Gods since 1995. It was then that a group of rag tag surfers joined a group of expatriates and formed a Bali Team to represent the island in an upcoming tournament. Due to the lack of funds, boxer shorts (with little chickens stamped all over them) were donated by Mambo as part of the Uniform. It was here that an idea arose and the Bali Chooks were born! The Bali 10's Rugby Tournament, inviting teams from all over Asia, became a yearly event and the Chooks continued to strengthen winning the tournament in 1997, 2001, 2003, and in 2005 becoming the Plate winners. In 2006 due to many Bali Chook players aging and unavailable to participate, we were at risk of losing Rugby in Bali forever. Therefore a group of Rugby enthusiasts got together to form the Bali Rugby Club!!!
In 2018 and 2019 respecitvly the Chillis have made the finals of both the Bali 10's and the Jakarta 10's cementing themselves as the top 10's team in Indonesia. More recently taking down the Asian Rhinos XV who were unbeaten for the last 15 years.
