Nov 26: Community Fair - helping students make informed decisions about pathway choices, volunteering opportunities, and future goals.
I am NEW to Secondary School/High School in Ontario (I have not earned ANY high school credits)
I am NEW to the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) and do not have a TDSB student number
I have been out of school for 5 years or more and require new assessments.
New Students will be required to write an English assessment (Math and Science optional)
Please bring: Proof of citizenship status and proof of address
Students will have their documents checked, complete their assessments and then choose their courses; the entire process can take up to 3 hours.
Assessments will be given for placement in English/ESL (and possibly Math and Science).
All students will require assessment unless they bring Proof (credit counselling summary, Ontario Student Status sheet or transcript) of their previously earned credits.
Acceptable forms of identification for Legal Status include:
Canadian Passport or Certificate of Citizenship
Permanent Resident (PR) Card or Record of Landing
Refugee Protection Claimant Document (with study permit)
You may apply for a study permit after you register once we provide you with a letter stating your intention of coming to BALC
Education Documents:
Ontario transcript or credit counselling summary or Ontario Student Status sheet (if you have one)
