General Information
If you enjoy doing art projects with kids, then consider being an Art Vistas volunteer. There are 5-6 lessons for each grade; each lesson takes about 1-1.5 hours to complete. We provide all the materials, plus video tutorials for every lesson.
For Each Lesson:
Ahead of time, coordinate with your teacher and schedule the lesson.
On lesson day, introduce the art topic and discuss a few slides (10-20 min).
Next, guide students through the hands-on project (40-60 min).
Note: For TK, K and grade 5 we are not doing the lecture and slides. The focus is the hands-on project. For other grades, the initial lecture is optional, depending on how much time you have.
Orientation
We have a General Information meeting in September to explain the program in detail and answer questions. The content of this meeting is available online (see Orientation Slides).
Art Room
Our supply closets are in Room 20. This video is of the old art vistas room, but it shows the supply bins. New video for room 20 coming soon!

History of Art Vistas
Art Vistas Unlimited was formed in 1984 by eight parents from Alta Vista Elementary School in the Union School District. Baker adopted the program in 2012 thanks to generous support from the Baker Home and School Club and MEF. Art Vistas has evolved into a wonderful part of the Baker experience and is a favorite among students. For more information about Art Vistas, check out http://www.artvistas.org.
