Construction
The chassis plate was started by using the band saw to cut a rough outline of the piece. The next step was to mill out the correct dimensions. The holes were then measured and drilled into the plate.
The front and rear mounting pieces were made next. Again, the band saw was used to cut large dimensions followed by milling to the correct dimensions and tolerances. A drill press finished these pieces.
The front tower was constructed next. This milling required creating a window in the aluminum and finding different heights of material.
The suspension arms were made on a CNC machine with the help of Ted Bramble. All pieces made in the shop were milled to specific dimensions and tolerances.
During initial assembly, all holes were drilled to dimension. Some were required to hold larger screws so those holes were tapped with a #6 Tap.
All the suspension parts were put together and the shocks and steering linkages were added.
