Story of my name
"My name, 白薯 (Baishu), is inspired by my mom's cyber nickname in the past, 白薯珍妮 (BaishuJenny). '白薯' is a homophone for '白鼠,' which means 'lab mouse.' During her teenage years, my mom felt like a lab mouse in society, navigating a confusing and challenging time. Although she's moved past that phase, she keeps the name as a tribute to her sensitive and naive adolescence.
Interestingly, my original name at the shelter was Chip, and '薯' means sweet potato, which makes Baishu a perfect name for me! 😊"
